This is a picture of my gimped pinky. I had a little spill on the weekend at the Woodlot.
After the doctor determined it was not broken, just dislocated, he asked me, 'Are you a tough guy?', I replied, 'Uhhh, sure'. Then he firmly took my hand and 'pulled my finger'.
POP was the sound and she was back in place.
I am now out for few weeks as I cannot bend that finger at all.

lucky for me, the pic is only a red x - i hate seeing pics of carnage :(. heal fast! sucks that you're out for a few weeks.
were you at woodlot yesterday? i was there too. where'd you bail?
Did something like that a year ago. Except it was 4 fingers on my left hand. I freaked out a bit when I saw it and popped them back in place while still on adrenaline. Rode the next day, but it hurt. My pinky is still slightly crooked and I can pop it out of place every now and again.
good luck.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope to be back on the bike in a few weeks. It happened on Saturday (11/29/03) and it was my first ride in 2 weeks, now it will be my only ride in 4 weeks.
It seems that a few people have bailed where I did. I did it near the top of Shotgun where the rains have washed out the trail slightly on the left of the trail. I rolled over the washout and my front tire just sunk into the ground and stopped. I went over the bars, nothing dramatic, but the finger hit something the wrong way when I stuck out my hands.
It was a stupid simple bail, but it hurt like hell. I am just VERY thankful that it is not a super serious injury. Hopefully the ligaments will tighten up an I get strength back in the finger.

When i fractured one of the big bones in my foot this summer,i was also lucky enough to dislocate my two smallest toes(pinky and the one next to it).it hurt like hell and looked even nastier.absolutely sickening.they were sort of resting one on top of another.
i got a bunch of freezing and they popped em back init took the assistant nurse(fucking hottie) and the doctor ages to put them back in...the nurse had to hold me down while the doc grabbed my toes in forceps and pulled like fucking mad..it was pretty heinous though,i think that hurt more than the broken foot.

Can I be part of the club?
I ripped out my thumbnail and all the skin, and shattered the bone from the knuckle up on the day before halloween. I was putting a belt on a sander and someone turned the power on. A month later and still no nail, no movement, and barely any skin.
