Comes with the bumpers. Adjustments are super sensitive. Seems like a great fork for the mone. Just have to get it mounted:D Oh i tightened the wipers. When i press down on the fork when it comes back up it leaves a big thick ring of oil at the point where it went the furthest down....should i worry about this or will it go away in a little bit?

Wow that was fast!

I wouldn't worry too much about the oil seeping, it is likely just residual oil from when it was assembled...Put some miles on it and see what happens. Worst case you replace the oil seals, and can possibly match up the old ones with higher quality seals.

Keep us posted!!

put that baby on. can't wait to hear how it rides. crazy deal. wonder if i shoulda got that instead of a $300 '04 DJ1. but then again, that thing would look way out of place on a HT.

I'd lose the stickers, throw on some black stanchion guards and go full stealth with that fork. Get rid of those red pads. Just cut up an old tire and zip tie it to the top of the fork for pads.
It would look both pimp and stealth.:thepimp:

oh shit:thepimp:

i can see certain hardtails not having a problem, but mine would just look goofy.:D

get rid of the stickers, and just strap some old tire peices on instead of the red gaurds.
the oil is likely residual from when it was built.this happens to just about anyu fork you rebuild..there will always be a little bit of residual oil to escape. If it becomes a problem, get the seals matched up at a place like BC bearings, then have it rebuild.
the kid i know who had one tinkered with it for quite some time and fiddled with oil hights/wheights alot.he finally got it feeling alot like a high quality fork, although the adjustments were always quite fiddly.

I put mine on my HT for the hell of it, It does look hinda KRAZEE, but its a beefy frame ,so it goes.
I took off the fruity stickers , and zapped a chunk o' tire on instead of the DNM bumpers. Those dnm bumpers wouldnt do sheeit anyways ,they are too thin.
Havent got all the drivetrain on(this makes bike # 3) cuz I dont wanna rob my other bikes, but the parking lot test feels VERY cool.

Was gonna keep it on the big bike, but I put the Monstairs back on. Not sure how the long travel hardtail experience is gonna go but hey , how bad can it be right??

Thats crazy...64 forks gone so fast? Well it was the cheapest deal ever...Now I regret it, it would have been a good backup fork...

I waited too long.
I called this morning to buy one(tuesday)...sold out:(
It seems regular price is going to be $499? Still not bad....as long as the fork works in the somewhat longterm test:)

good luck with that.

hate to "break" it to you, but that thing is "forking" terrible... my buddy had one on his KHS, kept blowing the seals... the seals actually come unthreaded and fall down the fork, bent all the internals, and basically destroyed the poor thing... at least the chassis structurally stuck together.

Mounted mine last night (the fork that is)!
Looks good, very well machined for $202.
Feels plush on the "push" test.
I'll get a wheel on it tonight, and give you a real review on how well (or not) this thing works over the next week or so.
I've had more than my fair share of forks over the last few years, so I reckon I'm in a good position to comment. I've currently got a Fox Vanilla on the other bike, and I'm not expecting the DNM to outperform that over the small stuff (now that's a quality single crown!)
I've already put a dab of blue locktite on the threaded wipers. If these loosen and fall down the leg, the oil seals (and fork carnage) will follow!
Oh.. and it's a wet lube design, like the Fox. This means that the legs should always have a minute amount of oil on them. The compression cartridge takes care of the real suspension work, and the fork oil is there just for lube purposes.

is this the UD180?

available from www.chainreactioncycles.couk i believe they ship internationally.

i looked at the manual, was trying to decide whether to get this new or buy a shiver dc secondhand. after looking at an exploded view of the internals i went with the shiver. whilst the UD180 has an open oil bath for damping, the thing is full of springs and mcu's and doesn't have negative travel. the fork doesn't activate well on small bumps, this feature to reduce topout i assumed.

couldn't find it on Chain Reaction's site..
Italian crafted forks are expensive over here, compared to british prices (I'm an ex-brit myself).
I think anyone would choose a Shiver over a DNM, but when a used Shiver is $700-$800, and a new DNM is $202; it has to be worth a shot!
The mcu's look tiny on the exploded view, so hopefully they won't affect performance too much. I'll let you know tonight when i ride it properly.

okay, looks like chainreactioncycles.co.uk stopped selling the DNM forks.

they had the USD120 and USD180 forks for sale. they were using them in advertising, maybe they don't want to touch them again!

there was Supercycles in nottingham selling Pizzaz forks which ar just rebadged Wendys Bombshell forks for the european market. but i'm guessing they wouldn't internationally ship and i think they have stopped selling Pizzaz anyway.

Yeah...met you up in Squamish a couple of weeks back with your friend from Ryders....went to the Shady Tree Pub after our ride. I was on the Brodie and my friend Dre was on the VP Free.

I thought it was you...not too many ex-pats on Bowen that ride boutique HT's. You planning on trying the DNM's on the Surly?

Hi again..

Yup the forks are on, just picked a new wheel for them (d321/formula). Test ride tonight!
I can't turn down a deal, it's an affliction.:)
I'm just interested to pit Taiwan against USA!

i've had the d321/formula combo for quite some time now....it's never let me down. good choice. looking forward to hearing your reviews and seeing how a 7" inverted fork looks on that HT of your's...

Ride review - Seymour>Corkscrew>Pingu>Pangor>Slash>Empress

Very wet trails.
No preload, fast rebound, 100lb psi compression. 190lb rider, hardtail.

The fork was excellent. Damping was great. Very stiff (my friend was riding a Shiver, and it was stiffer then the big Shiv in the all-important "knee" test. ;) )
Tracked very well, and was very plush over small bumps and ramped up nicely for bigger hits.
Seems nicely broken in now.

By the end of the run, it seemed as supple as my Vanilla R (quite a compliment)

Now that i like it, I just need to trim the steerer tube! I rode it with about 3" of spacers :)

We'll see how it holds up over a Wet Coast Winter, but the initial impression is BARGAIN!!!

yeah i dont think those Lizard skins ones will do anything...

i'd not trust my inverted forks to those...

Reply from www.ridersdirect.com re my request for setup tips (I'm 190lbs)

"A good starting point for your fork would be to set the air pressure in the right leg to 150psi. Then set the preload so that you have about 20mm of sag when sitting on your bike. Ride with your normal style and adjust the air pressure in steps of 5 psi. untill you like the way the stroke feels. Don't go over 200psi. in the air chamber or you could risk blowing the seals on a hard landing. I hope this helps. If you have any pics of your ride of anything that you might want up send them to me and I will post them.
Cheers.

I've had a single crown version of this fork(usd-120)for about 6 months now and I've had lots of problems. First was a grinding noise. That was the push rod on the coil side rubing on the coil spring cap. The hole through the aluminum cap was smaller than the plastic guide bushings so it rubbed the cap not the bushings. I e-mailed them in taiwan and in one month they sent me new pieces free of charge. My big problem now is when they get wet they lock up after a couple of compressions and your riding with a ridgid front end. I'm waiting for their "engineer" to get back to me with a solution to my problem. After a couple of rides the slop in the bushings will become very noticable. Just to let you guys know, there is only oil in one side of the fork and it is for the rebound. I love the price, ridgidity, size and looks. There isn't a crown on any fork I've seen that is as strong as this one. But this fork needs more development, no doubt about it. Hope you guys don't have the same problems as me.

Rode it again and decided that it compromises my bike too much.
Too much travel, and too high of a front end.
My current bike is used for dh,xc, commuting (34km)..everything.
I sold a big dh bike 6 months ago, and don't want to head back that way.
Anyways you can find mine on the buy/sell page.
