i know people experience this...

i have a front tire that is barely to fat for my fork..

24x3 arrow primewide in an 03 slider

it doesnt rub when upside down, but doesnt have enough clearance for a piece of paper..

well while riding in the snow saturday, the tire would rub at a certain spot when rotating...i know the same will happen in muddy conditions, so i need to fix it.

i need to shave down the sidewalls a bit i think, but i dont know the best means to do so...

tips?

Razor blade...Get a new one so it is uber sharp. And get comfortable, it takes a while!

i have a brand new exacto knife with this tires name on it!

iwas thinking of putting sandpaper on the fork and just going for a ride :)

the long-term solution is to get smaller tires (obviously), but for now, i cant afford that and have to ghetto my way out of it....

ill just put on Office Space, and start shaving away.

just take the arch off the fork, you dont need it.

Take the large front tire off the rim and mount on a rear wheel. Put rear wheel in bike, stabilize frame, have someone turn cranks while you hold a good and sharp "carpenters plane set at minimum depth" to slowly but surely cut off the tread. Much faster than manual method. :D PD :thepimp:

OH!

excellent idea!! i have the same tire as a rear tire..ill just shave that one down, then swap the tires out...that way i only swap once...

gracias pd!

ps - where is the snowline up there? this weekend we are coming up to do some riding and after this last weekend of snowriding here, id love to do another couple days of it

i did it exactly how M<ulletron suggested.....

took about 10mins of slicing... got some tired fingers but it worked...

i had to trim my Intense 26x2.7 to fit my Sherman Slider...

it still wont fit my 04 Super-T thou...

somthing even faster.. again most of you wont have this but its called a heat gun.. my dad has one uses it for scrapeing vinyl off u can also use it to shave tire knobs down with ease :D pretty much wait till its heated and then give a tire a spin and cut away

I doubt you do, but if you've got an air compressor, hook up a disc grinder with a sanding disk. Vroom Vroom!! Knobs be gone!

bah...

hand trimming each knob is a better way... u can see exactly how much u need to remove instantly...

besides its hardly a huge job...it just takes a few minutes... but a NEW-sharp blade is the key...

i think i went throu 3 razor blades doing my tire....:???:
