Hey hey,

I think within the next couple months I'm going to be replacing my 2000 Z1 QR20 fork (PM if interested  ). I'd really like an '04 Z1 with ETA, but I've been getting quotes like $850 and $900. That is a bit much for me, SO, I'm checking out a few used forks. '03 Z1w/ETA, Firefly, you know the deal.

My deal is that I don't need a heavy fork. I don't want a light fork.
What I do want is a good climbing system (ETA looks awsome), but something that will flow nicely down the rough.

I've been checking around for stats on the Sherman Rapid Travel Adjust II, but I can't seem to find anything. Can anyone help me figure out what it's deal is?
And if anyone has suggestions on forks, shoot them along, though keep in mind that it's got to be a 20mm axle, and will probably be going on a Cove Handjob - not a heavy-ass frame.

you probably want to keep with a Marz. product. the ETA is awsome for climbing.

*cough* *cough* I have a Z1 for sale

hehehe, i'll keep that in mind for sure when/if i sell my fork.

And I'm not really too opposed to standard axle stuff, as long as it's not gonna get noodly on me.

get a 04 sherman firefly, not only does it have travel you can lower to 90mm to get a steeper headangle but it also has spv damping to filter out pedal bob.

also has hex lock through axle, and the reverse arch which both really help rigidity.

it isnt to heavy either, most shermans are about a pound lighter than dirt jumpers so it should be right in the range of z 1's

be aware the older Z1's with ECC had problems staying working...

they would routinely flake out adn not hold "locked-down"....

Zokie could never figure out why they would do it either... its not like something was broken... they would just slowly/quickly return to full height...

my Z1 had the problem, was warrentied, then began to do it again shortly after... second time i just left it....

hopefully the ETA sytem doesnt work the same way...

so the travel adjust is down to 90mm? that's not a whole lot....
