Opinions please on the 24 inch 03 Sun Single Track Rim. Thinking of getting it and use i as a rear wheel. I will be doing FR, DH probably max drop height about 10 feet.
why not go DBLtrack ???
singletrack is a pretty lightweight rim for DH abuse and 10 foot drops...unless your smooth like Nico....:D

im running 26" Single Track on front
and 24" Doubletrack on rear
i go big but am smooth so haven't bent the front rim yet. i've had to true it 3 times in 8 months which ain't bad. when it goes i'll put a 26" Doubletrack on the front.
singletrack is a great rim (espeically 24" for dirt jump bikes - much better than Rhyno Lite or Ditch Witch) but a bit light for heavy hucking if your heavy or not always land in the right place

I destroyed one in a very short time - and I'm not hard on rims.

It will hold up fine if your light and smooth, I have cased a double really really hard doing like 20 mph and the rim was fine, then again Im only 150 pounds though, also I have done 10 foot plus hucks on the bike, but its a big hit with 8 inches of travel, so for a hardtail, definitely double tracks in the back if your a big guy.

They're a good over all rim, not as strong as a Double Track but also not as heavy. I'm 185lbs have and run single tracks, 26"front 24" rear, to give you an idea of how tuff these rims are I did a double drop on the weekend, a 6' to tranny to 7' drop to flat. I pinch flated on the first drop and landed the 7' to flat on a flat tire landing basically on the rim, it only suffered a slight dent, but nothing to write home about. If your a light rider go with the Single Tracks, if your not very smooth or just starting out go with the double tracks.

I'm runing a 24'' single track on the back now for 18 months , for a mix of everything and its held up fine (36 spoke) could do with truing . Might get a heavier rim if it goes tho
hahah go Cam... that was on Air-supply wasnt it ???
p.s. u must have hit hard, it blew the tire/tube clean off....

Also look at the prices depending on where you're buying the wheel, if a doubletrack only cost 5-10$ more why not just spend the extra coin and get a better rim?
At Overtime, doubletrack on formula 20mm built was 120$ and singletrack on formula 20mm was $110. I think you can guess which one I bought...
