When I build my wheels for my ht I don't know what colour spokes I should use. On my dualie I have a front wheel with silver and a back wheel with black spokes. I like both but I don't know which ones to choose?
Whats your oppinion, besides the fact that you don't really care :)

i like all black, but do you?????????????????
all black is the best...
unlesss your entire bike is silver or polished... in which case a silver spoke looks better....

black spokes are the only way i'll go.i have to pay a couple bucks more, but to me it's worth it.
ps. i only do it for the looks.

i heard the silver ones are stronger because the black ones have less metal to account for the extra thickness of the paint on i while silver spokes are all metal.
black=1.8mm metal and .2mm of paint
silver=2.0mm of metal and 0mm of paint
i don't know this for sure but this is what i heard:???:

Aren't some spokes annodized black? Or some are cast black?
I scraped the hell out of some of my old wheelsmith spokes, and never saw silver...

Silver.
Many peoples say they're stronger (they may be right)...but we all know they're also cheaper.
That's 2 reasons for you to go silver. One arguable, the other being a simple fact.
If you build your bike to put it in a f'n showroom...then that's another story! ;)

It depends on the rim. I have silver, because black would look ugly on my 321's.

heh. sharpie?
once i get my new black fork to replace my current black fork, it'll be blacker cause it has more black. then i'll surely have the blackest bike around when i get my front wheel with black spokes. :thepimp: ;)

Depends on the brand of spoke; some companies use a process to colour the spokes that weakens the spoke itself - DT claim that their black spokes are as strong as their silver spokes, and they weigh the same.
