It was destined to be. A good foot and a little more of fluffy snow couldn't stop us from going - Hell we went cuz of it. Me, Barry, Biker Kid and another Squampton loco slammed it down.
I got to break virgin tracks and man was it divine! The huge log ride was a bit sketchy with 5" of snow on it, but a little tripod action made it down okay.
So if any of ya thought you'd be the first to break it up - sorry.
Least we blasted a trail in for you to hike easier. My feet are still freakin cold.
There is only an inch of icy crud from Skookum down to Ditchpig. The drops on Ditchpig were a little icy too - but that is always fun
Nice work Zed freshies are always the best.
It's always a fight who get's to break track.

That's the best part - the young'uns didnt WANT to go first. So I happily obliged ripping my old ass down - no probs.
dirty-bike is coming up tomorrow to do a little known gem up here. Dad duties still have you?

Corona will have to do - cuz thats whats in the fridge.
Enjoy Seymour - we gonna hit up Thursday afternoon?
Thursday looks promising but it depends on work. Diggs works in the office now so it's a little easier to break away for an afternoon.
What about night riding?
do you have lights?
Zedbra

Well I do have lights, but I havent charge them in awhile, so I'm thinking the batteries might be pissed for that.
I get off work at noon, so I was wanting something earlier

I picked up a few guinness for us to mark my first ride in awhile. I'm thinking I may also bring the aqua pipe out for the ride...Can't wait to get back up to your neck of the woods Zed.

hahaha what a wicked ride that was. the log ride was prime! soo sketch and so hilarious. biker kid slammed it down with no feet the whole way. :thepimp:
then everyone took off and we were left to get his truck out when someone doubleparked us. took us 45 min and almost ended in the ditch!

I was wondering what took ya so long. I was waiting at the bottom with some beers but got too damn cold.
Course, if I was a good friend, I would have gone up and seen if you two were okay....

Ian,
Is the road plowed all the way up to the Elfin lakes parking lot?
Will it be plowed all year?
have fun riding in the snow! We'll be skiing!
barry

its plowed, but theres still alot of ice. super sketch getting up, out and down with a 2wd truck no chains.
i'd take chains for sure and you'll be OK. 4wd would definetly help. it just dumped another foot, so it might not be plowed now thought, and i have no idea if theyre gonna continue plowing. probably, cuz ppl like to ski into the lakes this time of year.

Sharon - see what Barry said.
Today - cut fresh tracks down Crouching Squirrel Hidden Monkey with 5" of snow. dirty-bike cut tracks most of the day, and me for a little bit. It was surprisingly less slippery than I expected.
We were gonna do a second run, but it snowed over 4" in just over an hour. We decided not to go and get stuck, though dirty-bike had to stay here awhile because there was a three hour delay as no traffic was moving from Squamish to Brittania. Fun

He has yet to even bring me in some fucking cookies. I think the whole chef thing is BS.
Sounds like you guys had a good ride. Im most likley good for thursday, Its a US holiday so it will be slow at work anyway.
We'll have to keep a close watch on the snow line. I would say anouther 6 inches and CBC could be out for the season, just to deep to ride in.

Opening day on Blackcomb was great! The snow that was there was stellar. Need more in the alpine though.
I was on my XC Dually skis on Saturday - Volkl G3's
I was on my free ride HT Skis on Sunday - Volkl G4's.
so the xxx 's are your full squish DH rig ?

hah, never thought of my skis as bikes...
i only have an all-purpose freeride hardtail ski - line skogan sprangs
we rode locally saturday in a foot of untouched snow. i fell off most every skinny and log ride...when i hit the ground, i proceeded to make snow-angels....
all this fun of biking in the snow is making me forget about skiing

tell lee to make sure he gets bindings that are wide enough so when the brake is engaged it doesnt rub against the ski...if enough resistance is present, the brake system WILL explode (happened to me last year).
also, the spaceframe technology that salomon used on their pocketrockets has flexing issues when you are running to fast on the skis and forcing flex (aka steeps shoots and a bumpfield)...
just a heads up..
otherwise, nice deal and sweet ski!

Did you drive up Diamond Head? The drops off the side of that sucker must make your balls shrivel up when you got the white stuff under your truck tires. (i'd still like in on it though) :D
