Well since we are enforcing a NO NEW BUILDING in the shed to keep the delta parks chainsaws at bay I would have to say NOT. If you have a lot of extra time and energy it would be much more to the point to do a little maintenance.
There are a million mud holes that need repair and lots of little things that need work...you could just go around with a hammer and a few nails and fix any loose ladder rungs.
The first up and over on Bender is falling apart.
The tranny on the stairway drop needs work
the goat gaps need to be fixed up after those assholes tore out the boxes for the take offs,
you could always help me out on the simon says rebuild.
I'm also going to have to do a bunch of rock and dirt work on 6 seconds after the second drop.
The bridge across the ditch at the bottom of 6 seconds and the drop trail needs to be re-built.
You could always start rebuilding the drop trail... that will keep you busy for a couple years.
The teeter on the Mr. Twister log is broken and so is the one on the next trail over.
The drop off the end of the twister log could use a bit of a tranny.
The straight through drop on brender could also use some more dirt in the tranny.
Level 5 is also fucked since that tree fell and busted up the second skinny... you could always contact Brett at shedbikeclub@hotmail.com and offer your help to fix that up.
So that should keep you busy for a while what do you think.
hey, how about the shitty ditch pool section after the landing on the last jump on the goats gaps.
the trail between the goats and stairway
;)
And Al, i think he meant construction as in constructing some drainage ditches or rocked sections;)

thats what i was trying to say, but i thought construction was better, as in construct like "construct a new tranny" not build new trails if that is what you thought i meant!
also i was thinking a trail day soon!! let me know when there is one, me and chad will gladly attend!

Oh Ok I took it to mean new construction... but it still stands any time you have spare time and energy the above mentioned problems are just waiting for a strong, healthy young fella like you to get busy and fix them. Yes we need a trail day but that shouldn't stop you from getting in there on your own for a few hours here and there. If we all sacrificed one ride per month and spent those couple hours doing maintenance the shed would be uberbuff.

ok, but i didnt want to do it alone, because i was afraid that someone would be like WTF are you doing? so maybe i will say, al told me too. I dont want to fix goats jumps b/c i dont want to be responsible for them but i will fix , the tranny up on the stairway a bit, as well i'd be glad to do some work on bender ( like tranny for the drop to the left, would i be allowed to make one, or at least carve some dirt out from whats there and re - shape it), and the roll over that is before the log ride. Im gonna ask chad if he would be interested in going out there, just let me know what kind of guidlines there are, to building like a tranny ot carving it out ect.
Thanks,
Braden
when getting dirt, you wanna avoid digging big pits, whether beside the trail or off the the trail. You wanna find a high spot in the ground of good dirt (dirt that is golden/brown in colour) a good spot for dirt is when you come out the end of Simon Says, look left and there is a huge fallen tree with its roots exposed to you, in that hole that the roots left is awesome dirt and the kind of stuff you wanna look for. Dirt is important, bad dirt will turn to mucky shit cause it won't filter water, the gold stuff will get mucky at first, but after it settles it works perfect.
Back to this high spot to get dirt, never use the very top layer cause it's dark composted dirt (pine needles, leaves, etc) so go down a bit till you find the good stuff, then keep taking dirt until the high spot is down then when done smooth everything out so you can't even notice that there was a bump there to begin with and that there's no hole.

wat are the guidlines ofr building (can u build trannys?)
like you mean framing a tranny?
I think for the one on Bender, try to find a few big rocks, to build up the backside of the tranny then add dirt. It's in a spot where it almost just needs some new dirt and that's it, nothing too much:)

yea thats what i thought ( the drop isnt big ehough for a large tranny) the straight away drop is ok though, maybe a bit of dirt but the trannys fine!
yeah, it definatly needs some new dirt on top, my ht doesn't appreciate it:o

are you talkingo about the left one or the straight away, ive never done the straight one, but the one on the left turn, is hard to make the tranny, i was thinking of combing or shoveling some of the dirt back to make the ranny smoother and closer
dicuss,
braden
the last post i was talking about the one straight off, it's alot easier IMO but the tranny's getting pretty worn and packed down. As for the one on the left, the tranny is easy to make, it just could be a bit taller and maybe a bit more leveled (it looks like a little lip the other way, no chance of landing both wheels on it)
