I thought this was important for the biking community to see. Anybody that llikes or supports drop-in should help out by pressuring networks to show it. I'm just forwarding this message from Tim Bieber, one of the producers for Drop-in:

We are in the process of negotiating with a number of networks and require your help, the viewers, in pushing the word forth.

What networks need to understand is that they are ingnoring the most important demographic and that is the 12-24 year old age group who is interested in adventure sport...that is you and every other young person you know. What network focuses on you!? And what most of you probably don't know is that your generation: 'Y-generation' makes up the second largest group/demographic on the planet. Your generation makes up 23% of the worlds population, second to only your parents, the 'baby boomers' who only make up 25% of the population and dieing fast! By 2008 the 12-24 year olds will be the most dominant populous/force.

if you like adventure programming, specifically Drop In, then do us all a favour and write to the following networks and let them know you want to see Drop In on thier network. Include our web address so they can get more info. Please take a moment to write something brief to the following networks:

1. Global TV Canada- You specifically want to see Drop In on the conventional free channle -- jrichardson@globaltv.ca
2. Spike TV USA and Canada -- got to here to comment; http://www.spiketv.com/home/comments/
3. ESPN - USA -- got to: http://expn.go.com/sitetools/s/contact/index.html
4. OLN USA -- email feedback line at; feedback@olntv.com
5. Fuel TV (Fox) -- go to; http://www.fuel.tv/ (skip intro and hit talk to us)

Thanks a lot for your assistance. If we flood them with requests they have to take a series look at airing freeride mountain biking! I'll keep ya'll updated on progress.

ahahahahah what a crock of shit.

by 2008 generation Q will be 31% of the population, thus diminishing our importance, but thats OK, we'll be dieing fast!

blah - same here... i can just watch the episodes online, but, there has been more of the goofing off, and less of the good stuff (i.e.: riding), than i would care for.

sent 5 emails though...

question, too - "Fuel tv (fox)" - is this the american fox, or canadian fox? or isn't there a difference??

Thanks for that.

If I'm 47 now, exactly how long have I got, statistically speaking?

I can see how a lot of people want the show to be strictly based on riding, but it is important to find a balance between lifestyle/adventure/sport so that these networks will take a serious look at it.

I also believe that finding a balance doesn't necessarily mean 10% riding and 90% other stuff but that's something that you guys should be suggesting to Tim Bieber. because he really wants fan suggestions.

thanks for your continued support

keep em coming

the more pressure we put on networks to program shows that viewers want to see, the more likely it's going to happen.

It probably makes for better t.v with the whole lifestyle thing, but they went a little overboard with it, in my oppinion anyway.

alright, well all I can say is continue e-mailing those networks to get Drop In on more channels and more available to different biking communities. It's a great show, the preferred content of it is debatable, but Drop In needs the support .

Drop-in is great:D.....especially once you just chill, sit back and just watch and not expect riding front to back like a video.
