I'm looking for input. If you were to see a demonstration group ridnig a bunch of stunts for entertainment...what stunts would you want to see them ridnig? High and wide? Low and technical? Suggestions on what you would like to see...

a swivel teeter would be sweet. or a teeter totter wit another one in the middle of it. 2 - 3 inch wide teeter totters are always fun for the tecnicalness and for providing some carnage too.
high wide stuff looks impressive because you can easily hit it at speed and style it out a bit where as the low technical stuff looks impressive because it takes more skill to do.
what about something like a rollercoaster into kicker?

hmmm, yeah... connecting like 4 or 5 teeters like they did in JIB would be cool. you know... hinge the ends so it creates a snake like effect
I dont know if this makes sense but just check it out in JIB if you have no idea what I'm talking about

ahahahahaha track stands.
i can see it now: the sidewalks are packed, all eyes are on one man in the street, carefully and patiently balancing his bike as the crowds look on in anticipation. then he dabs. a wave of dissapointment erupts from the crowd.

I would never dab in a competition environment. I may even show the crownd how I can take a sip from my water bottle whilst track standing. Or perhaps even adjust my walkman!!!!

how about a 1/4 inch wide skinny? i just built and rode one today out of some angle iron. it was relatively technical and is bound to amaze the crowds. it would have to stay fairly low to the ground though.

As far as the skinny goes...we have right now a 2by4 that is a couple feet up and fairly long that is our skinny...we have in the past though had 2by4's on side, but they were not to high. We are just looking into creating some sort of long, technical, apparatus, that is safe but crowd pleasing, and frekin fun to ride.

I dont know if it was built before on cypress but you should make a spiral that goes up some trees and it should drop of at the end thatd be sweet

A sliding roller coaster.
Take that slide stunt that was in Redbull in Australia - and slap a nice roller coaster into a mild 5 foot drop after.
That would be nuts.

Awesome ideas!
Just remember that these stunts will be protable and taken to shows all over the lower mainland, so we cannot build a twisting logride around a tree and bring it to demos. ;) Although if we could figure out someway to build it, that would be awesome.

So what would make your show any different from Dangerous Dan's FLOW Show ? That should be your question.
Try to be different. Try to be original.
Northshore Freeride Team + riding skinnies = What the FLOW show has done for years.
I don't want to burst yoru bubble, I just mean to say to actually get bookings and exposure , you should try to bring an aspect to your show that is different.
Derek Track standing on fire...now thats different !

Banked corkscrew around a tree (or stump) with multiple teeter-totters creating a domino effect ending with something signifigant such as a mid-size drop or steep roll.

it would take lots of work and practice to do it but one thing the flow show doesn't have is a loop.

Yeah thanks man. We are not just going for skinnies and other stunts that you see all the time, that is why I am trying to accuire some ideas. I know we are very similar to the FLOW Show, but that was what we built ourselfs off of. But we want to have some really unique stunts at our demos, as well as taking time to talk to people, let kids try the bikes, etc etc. We try to offer as much as we can at our shows. Dan and the flow riders have a kickin' thing goin', and we want to carry it on, and add to what they already offer, with young riders from all over the lower mainland with tons of tallent, unique stunts, and educating people, and even offering camps during the summer sponsored by our team for riders just getting into the sport or wanting to improve their skills. We are similar to the flow show, but have our own ideas and ways to make our shows different.

1/4" wide skinny? you do realize thats less than a pencil width right? but i guess when it gets to and inch or less it doesnt really matter, your tire would just eat it up.
KamaKazi
11-10-2003, 04:16 PM
yes. i know exactly how wide 1/4 of in inch is. it's about the same width as the point on the outside corner on a peice of angle iron, like the one i rode across the other day. riding something that skinny sounds impossible untill you see it done, all it takes is a bit of practice.
