I just broke my 2002 DJ1. Sheared my right stantion when I cased it on the ledge of a bank while practicing abubacas.
Man, I've only had it for less than 3 months. That's pretty brutal.

If its only 3 months old, you can get a warranty on it....provided they see it as defective, and not abused.
Tough break!! :)

Yea, my last broken fork ended up in my leg after I cased the halfpipe gap.
Haha, that would be a year, 4 days ago.
I could keep riding it, just like... the singlecrown version of the Cannondale Lefty.

DJs suck. Those stupid quick release jobbies on the underside are useless. Why would they bother designing a gadget when you can't use it or it brakes? Seriously, there's 4 tiny little threads holding that shit together:rolleyes: . If it falls off - a replacement piece is $75. What a fricken scam job.
Keep it simple stupid. The less moving parts the better.
Sorry for the rant but I'm fed up.
I want Shermans

I thought my brake lever stabbing incident was bad. (mind you, it WAS 2 inches from the holiest of holy's)

I dunno what you are doing to your forks but I haven't had any problems with the new QR20 system... I don't know anyone who has either. What are you doing to give the thing such a hard time
And what's this about not being able to use the brakes?

Yea, fork in the leg. I cased the halfpipe gap, and sheared both stantions. I got up, swearing loudly cuz I'd just broken my fork. So I'm hiking out with my bike in 2 pieces, and I notice my pants are heavy. Soaked with blood. Badass cut, but I slapped some bus transfers and duct tape over it, hiked it out and called my dad.
It was about 2.5" deep (length of pinky finger), severed a minor artery, and took 18 stitches to sew up. I was on crutches for about 3 weeks, and off riding for about 3 more.
That was the 2002 DJ1.5 from my stock 2002 4hun. I got the bike in March, and it broke at the end of october, about 7.5 months. I went over to a Supernova, rode it for about 8 months, and I went back to Marzocchi at the beginning of August. Haha, and my frame was away on warrantee till the middle of september.
ahh my 2000 will last forever

What am I doing? I guess I'm actually using them. Meaning, I take my wheel off once in a while. They're new as of March 2003. I'm talking about those stupid flip things on the underside - like additional quick releases for 'easy' removal. Not doing anything too crazy. Like I said, just using the poorly engineered gadget.
Sorry about the typo. Not Brakes...I meant breaks. WHen I use the gadget, it breaks. I've put my wheel on, tightened everything up, gone for a ride and at the end of the ride been missing pieces. One piece was sheared right in half and I didn't crash or anything. Honest! :(
WHat the hell?
I sent them back for warranty and got a new (less creaky) steer tube but nothing for the other problem. Drat. Damn Marzocchi.

I guess I could just transfer over to an older DC fork with skinnier stantions, despite the fact that that's where my problem is.
I'm hoping for one of those 2004 DJ1's, Cromo styles. Beef.

Send it in for warrantee... you don't get the old fork back as far as I know.
Abubaca, a rear tire stall on a ledge, hop off, and ride out backwards and spin around.
