what is the difference between the sl and the fr?

SL is a more jump/street geometry, very low.
FR is a shore/epic bike, SL is a MTBMX, they even said so in some of their advertising.

i owned a letoy 3 for a few weeks, didn't like it at all.
super short top tube on mine, making the wheelbase short as hell.every time i went to pull up on the bars,i thought i would flip over.the angles were also SUPER stupid steep with a 5 inch Mr. T,when i went to a boxxer up front,it felt a bit better but still not what i wanted it to be.
so i traded it for a shore frame, which i am way way happier with.

Dekerf Implant. 5 lbs of Reynolds 853 pipes hand welded and brazed by one of the best.
Next choice would be the Kona Score but there aren't too many of those out there.

I think my Planet X was the nicest feeling bike I've ever ridden, it's a shame it cracked so easily.
Aside from that, I really like FOR frames, and the Minuteman

1) 2001 Devinci hucker. Nice paint, beautiful workmanship, stiff, fast, light, strong, cheap and Canadian, even if it's made by a bunch of dirty sepratists. Great warranty, too!
2) .243. Tight, tough, burly and well thought out.
XC: Cove Stiffee FR. Fast, nimble, light, tough, fun to ride. Stiff as fuck.

.243!!! The geometry is actually good on that bike, like a bmx with smart geometry instead of the average HT "Oh the trend right now is super slack or steep head angles and super steep top tubes to make it look cool... might as well have long chainstays because people don't notice the feeling of a bike"
My DMR feels pretty awesome but I can't say i trust the frame too too much... :o

It's now called the Foreplay MX. :)
I have the 03 Stiffee FR, and it's light, very strong, very stiff, and has good angles. Good for riding up or down trails.

what are you talking about???
A steep toptube is to compensate for suspension. Do you realise that the head tube is, on average, 5 inches higher than it was 5 or 10 yeas ago? This had to be compensated for with out making a clown bike...
steep angles are for very specific reasons: Steep seat tubes make pinching the seat easier, and if you are sitting, center your weight... Steep head tube angles make a bike that is very quick.
The chainstaly length is (or should be) largely dicatated by the reach of a bike. A bike with a shorter reach should have shorter stays, or else you'll never get the front end off the ground. Of course, the opposite is true, as well.
Further more, shorter stays are good for tech street stuff, where as longer stays are more stable off a jump... youll notice, that the Gimp has pretty "long" stays--it's a jumper (even the 24" version)... where as the LeToy, or Clifcat is better for techy stuff. Look at BMX jumping frames Vs their street counter parts. You will notice the same trend.
I guess i am trying to make the point that geometry is not a trend... riding style is.

According to the September/October Dirt (http://dirtmag.co.uk) magazine, it says the Identiti (http://www.identitibikes.com/identitibikes/index.html) Dr Jerkyll frame is "pretty much perfect." "It is light", "has neat cable routing out of the way under the top tube", "comes with an ISCG mount", "mounting holes for a Crud catcher", and their own Adjustable Dropout System. This frame is pretty much my dream frame. Other than that, I also like the Nicolai (http://www.nicolai.net/) BMXTB.

I'm talking about my old norco 250 specifically. 2002 250... retardly long chainstays to make up for having 26/24 wheel compatibilty... it felt like shit with 24" because it was too long, If you're gonna make the bike come with a 24" wheel then make it 24" specific so it actually feels like it should. The retardly steep top tubes look cool and are a trend that a lot of companies are doing. The head tube was too steep and the top tube was too short so the tire actually hit the pedals when your doing an x-up. A lot of things were wrong with the bike that maybe you wouldn't catch until you actually ride one. And to BoyBoy, I actually know how to ride a bike so yes, I do know how to pinch the seat for no handers and stuff, and I know what different geometry does. The long stays on the 250 I had made it have the worst balance point ever. After riding a .243 or my trailstar for about a minute I could manual it as far as I wanted to no problem. Maybe Norco has improved the geometry in more recent years (I sure hope so), so then my opinion doesn't really count.
And I also know that the steep top tube is to accomodate for larger suspension forks. The 250 actually felt pretty decent with the stock 3" fork, but it made me very very mad that the tire would hit the pedals when I was doing an x-up or the front of my foot when I was just turning.
I don't know I'm sure a lot of bikes that I havn't spent much time on (cliffcat, planet x, other bikes) are made smartly but I was just going off about the trends that a lot of companies seem to be doing (I would build bikes like that too if it meant more sales). I just noticed that the .243 I rode felt really really good, and that the geometry seemed "dialed" like a lot of BMX's are.
hmm im suprised. i havnt seen the letoy3 mentioned on the 1st page. and my internet is too slow right now to go readin other pages. im guessing its on those other 4 pages somewhere :P
so yeh the letoy3, a wicked frame!

For an aluminum bike I'd go with the Chameleon from Santa Cruz... love the strength to weight Ratio...
I'd also like to check out one of those Kona Scores (the titanium one right)
The Dekerf is pure trail beauty... but the closest I could come to affording one is doing a wheelie on a borrowed one
Personally? I never leave home without my highly modified Redline Monocog with a Kona disk fork and full profile kit...
