Bar's are one of the most important parts of the bike

Of the two, go Truvativ.

It's ridiculous how many parts on a bike control how easily you can die.

I recomend Pro-Tapers. But those are beyond your price range. So Get the Truvativ's

I run DMR wingbars, pretty high rise when coupled with a 7 inch fork though:eek:
the bars feel great though, nice solid, stiff,i know they aren't busting any time soon!
i gotta get a lower stack stem and see if it helps,if not i might have to get rid of them...it's just really twitchy feeling with such a high front end.
:(

Heh, I've always loved 'most important part' cause serious now, are there many parts of the bike you can really do without? :P

Derailuers, shifters.

Cassette and rings arent going to cost you your life. Seat and post arent gonna kill you. Grips the same way. Headset too.

That's really it though.

Well I meant in regards to the word 'important' I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find a use for a bike that doesn't have a cassette (or at least a fixed cog)

People don't use chain's at whistler.

You would be fine without a cassette, chain, rings, guide, derailuers, shifters. You'd turn a 40 pound bike into a 34 pound DH pimp.

Trials: Chainskip.
Chainskip going up a log. That happened to my bro, 8 footed flier on CBC.

Seatpost/seat aren't important, brake levers (as long as you have em) shifters, hubs.

Of course, with those parts crappy, you'll have a crappy ride.
