As some of you know I'm in the used market for a new bike.... my two choices right now are a 2003 bighit comp, upgraded rims, tires...etc with a 03 super t for $1500.... and a 2002 g-spot, couple upgrades, with a 01 jr t. for $1300.... both are in good shape, I like coves lifetime warranty thing but the big hit is beefy...help me out on my current choice.
Thanks,
Thom:D

Go with the Big Hit. Just a better bike all together.

Spend the extra 200 bucks and get the Big Hit.
The COVE is a nice bike, don't get me wrong, but the design is slightly dated, and the Jr. T is a fork that poops its pantaloons when next to the Super T.
Buy the Big Hit for $1500. Save up some coin and do the 8" conversion (comes with a Vanilla RC). That kit is like $400 USD. Then you'll have a bike that is capable of everything you'll ever be able to throw out. It's definately the way to go.

cannondale has a reputation of having issues wiht breaking.
i have ridden a couple big hits, and liked how they felt. super strong.
ride both, see what you like most.. but my vote goes to the big hit

very smart move. You will not be disappointed.
plz dont compare a BIGHIT to a G-spot....
the BIGHIT is much of a better bike, and mostly certainly a better deal....
get teh BIGHIT and ride happy....:thepimp:
Also, the Big Hit has a lifetime warrenty as well.
On top of that, it will be easier to find a shop to help you out with warrenty issues even though it is used. :)

good god i could go on all nite how a BIGHIT is a better bike...
but in this particular case the BIGHIT is the better deal simply based on price...
not to mention the Super-T it has over the Jr-T on the cove....
:P
besides wouldn't u rather be on Team BIGHIT then team G-spot...i dont think there even is a team G-spot...hhahah....
even if there is, very few can ever find it anyways....:cougar:

I have to tell you really, there is no comparison to be had. G-spots arn't very well named. Cuz they arn't even remotely orgazmic.... They tend to explode into little bits... I have seen a number of unhappy gspot owners walking down fromme. My bighit is from 2001 and I have just replaced the du bushings.. thasit...

american moneys too...so it works out to roughly 2200 cdn i think. sounds about right w/ a super t... the 03's are selling for roughly the same amount as the 02's on the used market

Ha, that was pretty good. I dont really like G-spots that much. Plus the big hit is the better deal of the two.

There's no such thing as warranty on a used bike. Original owner only.
Also, while the G-Spot has been around for alomost seven years now, it doesn't break much anymore. The old style, pre-rad tube construction frames would fail in a year or less. The Rad tubes seem to be holding up well for almost anyone under 200lbs.
I put over 100 (probably closer to 120) FULL days on my G-Spot this year alone, and it's just peachy. And I break frames all the time.
The Specialized has a better fork, but it has it's own set of issues.
Limited seat height adjustment, which can be a hassle if you have to earn your vert.
Also it is a true four bar set up which means better suspension action but more maintenance in the long run.
Glad I could muddy the waters a bit for you.

I'd like to argue that. A guy I often ride with who owns a Big Hit fuckin kills it with big airs and all around burly riding every single day...and I stress every day, has not had to replace a single bearing in the rear end yet. He got his frame in late 2000. That is impressive. That's not the only Big Hit I know of with this kind of reliability, either.
I can go so far as to say, of all the 2001 and newer Big Hits I've come across (and they're HUGELY popular down here and I work in a popular specialized dealer)....none have required any non-shock maintainence whatsoever.
Not saying the Gspot is a bad frame...but the Big Hit is just really really good.

WERD... the BIGHIT has amazing bearing life... both my BIGHIT's have remained as tight/smooth as when i bought em...
both my frames have seen massive amounts of riding including lots of foul weather use... and i clean my bikes with a pressure hose all the time...
including 2 full seasons of cleaning with Whistla's presure hoses...
still aint had to buy a single bearing for my bikes... only had to do teh shock DU bushing a couple of times...
dont get lower maintainence then that...:thepimp:
