My dad has a 2001 Stab primo only used for 2 season. He's gonna sell it but said i could take it ( for a price) its got a an 01 or 02 Shiver, Fox RC, Blackspire chainguide and most xtr. the problem is I am relativly new to freeriding (1/2 year) but am already doing 6 foot drops. The problem of this bike is like all others Stab Primos. Its really heavy, but it doesn't have a lot of pedal-bob. Should I take the stab primo, or get a stinky deelux(02,03). I ride drops, northshore, dirtjump. thanx

That depends on the smoothness of the drop and you.

The stab series is rented at Whistler under the name Joyride, so hacky ppl do 10 footers on them all the time. Looking at the list of shit that breaks on the rental bikes (used to scare you into buying insurance) the frame is way down the list.

I would say if you don't weigh anything over 150 pounds, you could hit 20 footers with it, if your that crazy, but if your smooth and you ALWAYS have a tranny that bike will hold up fine for a bigger guy too.

Go Primo

I have an 02 and love it. Ya they're heavy, but so what. I'm 260 and definitely not a big drop guy (ya ya working on it) but I love the solid feel of this bike and knowing that I'll never wreck the frame.
