ok so on a section of trail with rooty steps , you know the kind about 8 inch to a foot steps.
i find it very harsh on the front end .riding with an 03 jr.t up front .
its fine for most of my riding but on this kind of stuff it just beats the shit out of me.
im gonna change for a better fork when i get the lolly ( shiver or 888) but in the mean time is there anything i can do.

you can "port" the valves on the Jr.T to allow higher volumes of oil to flow through the damper cartridges to reduce/illiminate the "spiking" you are talking about.
What is happening inside the fork is the sharp, hard hits are trying to move a large volume of oil through a small orifice into the cartridge. When a high volume of oil is pushed at a high velocity, only so much can make it through in one hit, and you will feel a "spike" as the remaining amount of oil is not able to pass through quick enough.
By porting the valves, you effectively enlarge the orrifice's of the cartridges, which will allow more oil to flow through at a higher rate when the fork is under harsh conditions. This will reduce and can illiminate the "spike" and really smooth out your travel.

oh yeah , i read about this on here before.
all ive done with forks in the past is change oil , adjust oil levels .now im no mechanic but will give most things a go .
what do you think is it a difficult job to do. Or is it the perfect excuse to sell and move to something bigger and better

Both sexy forks....the 888r sounds like a nice piece of metal..I don;t think you would go wrong either way.

Or an 04 Slider :)
The Shiver over the 888R I would say though. Mullet rides one I believe. And from everything I have read, they are great for sensitivity on the small stuff thanks to less unsprung weight (no lowers to carry through the travel)
