Are the stanchion tubes left and right specific?
will the rebound and compression cartridges fit either way?

I think so, but I've never swapped them.
Check the manuals for part numbers.
That should answer your question.

ridemonkey is where it's at for boxxer info.
no one here rides them, and i'm finding more and more that ridemonkey has usefull posts,if not MANY usefull posts on anything you search for.
if not, start a thread thre and you'll be sure to get reply's.
i finally got my boxxer race's working properly,it took ALOT of fiddling and rebuilding, but now they run decent enough for me to want to keep them...i'd still rather a shiver but i'll give the boxxer's another try.
ps,ron...i will have an 02 boxxer coming to me soon, that i will probably let go for cheap,or trade it for parts.
i'll have hte fork as soon as nate (freerideforever) get's his shit together, starts answering my emails again, and sends me my damn fork:mad:
I'm just slightly pissed about this.

wohoo, cool, i would be interested in getting abother boxxer, i currently have 2, but both of them have some major problems, so I'm going to swap stuff around so i get a good complete fork and a total crap fork, then i want to get another boxxer for my other bike.
Anyway, I never noticed any part number anywhere on the stanchions, and the cartridges seems to be the same size with same glide ring, same c-clips and everything, should be L/R swapable, but i just wanna make sure before i start taking things apart.

the two stantions are interchangable ron.
the main problem with the boxxer is that the seals are blown.
i might get it fixed up and then keep it though, but i'll get in touch with you as soon as it get's here and let you know how much i think it's worth.
i mostly need money to replace the bent/cracked rear triangle on my shore...but i'll see what kinda shape the boxxer's in and maybe keep it as a second fork and just shell out the 400 for a new rear triangle.:???:
