The 2004 screams will be in stores around march 2004.

That was from an email I received last month from Pip after I asked him a bunch of questions about the Banshee Scream.

best change banshee could make would be a vert. drop out option on the scream and morphine and a thru-axle option on the scream

yeah, it will be 7 to nine inches and have a longer shock, to create less leverage.Looks like I wil have to waite a while to get one...oh well its not like i have the money anyway, lol.

It's got set screws in the dropouts, you simply set them the same, then slide the wheel in, bolt it down. Even and same exact place every single time.

Is that the reason you want vert d/o's? To keep the wheel in the same place every time?

Maybe as an option it would be neat. But I think they covered it all.

If the travel has increased another inch at max travel 9", and they spec a 3" stroke shock then the ratio will drop a bit. But if shock stroke is only like 2.75" then the ratio doesnt drop that much.

8/2.25=3.55
9/2.75=3.27
9/3=3

Also, i recently saw a banshee frame box. It has all the standard models listed, plus the scratch, and also the letters DH? Does that mean they are making a DH bike? Is it the 04 scream? Or maybe they mark that option when the send DH (the person) to the shows.......

What i want to see:

100mm bb with 150mm hub spacing for better chainline and stronger rear wheel.
options to use a 10 Qr, or 12/15 rear thru axles. (or bigger like turners)
disk brake mount that follows axle location.
floating brake option
3" stroke shock for lower leverage
better cable routing-under top tube rather than on top.

I dont want:
oversized BB. I think the idea is sorta cool, and in the truvative catalog the weight gain isnt all that much, i just wouldnt want to be stuck with an outdated product in a year when the system flops....not that it will, but just in case. Guess someone has to do it though to get it off the ground.

I remember Pip saying something about the new Scream having the Overdrive BB...

biggest improvment needed on the banshee is cable routing along the down tube and out the swingarm not the top tube it kinks the lines.

I already did that :D , but having real cable mounts rather than a mess of zipties would be cool.
