On Sunday NSMBA and BC Parks put up sign posts and temporary signs at the top and bottom of the Empress re-route (unofficially Empress Strikes Back), took down the barricades at the top and the fence at the top of the Empress rock faces.

Empress and the re-route are now offically open!!

Thanks again for all those that helped out. It has been a long and significant effort, and I think everyone will find that what we have ended up with is as good a compromise as could possibly been achieved given the circumstances.

Permanent signs will be installed in the near future, along with an additional sign just before the bridge to caution riders to be aware of possible hikers.

With the rain approaching and the increased traffic which will now take place, there will obviously be additional work to do but this will be managed on an as needed basis.

Please remember, while the Empress rock face route remains a MTB tail, the rest of the re-route is considered multi-use. Regardless of whether you agree with this, please respect it.

Thanks again....PD

Nice work and huge props for all the time you spent on it PD.

It was only fitting that yours was the first blood spilt on the trail. Hope the 'owie' is OK.

JRA... Good thing he was setting the example and going slow  so as not to impact any oncoming hikers!

Had a run down Pangor yesterday Putty. More cool work, dude. Log ride and drop which wasn't quite finished, ramped drop through the trees, a few new skinnies etc. Nice flow.

Ran into PD on B-M on 2nd run down, and did Empress which he had just reopened. PD ate dirt right in front of me on the re-route. No trees involved. Just good times.
