View Full Version : A public thank you to switch
I would just like to take a moment to write an open thank you letter to a board member, switch or maybe Robert to some of you.
I had talked to Robert the other day about purchasing his Bighit frame, and after his more than reasonable offer I decided to take him up on it. The only problem was that I've just recently moved to Vancouver and I don't have the tools, nor the know-how of how to switch (mind the pun) my old components to the new frame.
This is where Robert stepped in. Robert met me at a location that we both knew and we headed back to his place (no the story isn't going that way). It would definitely be wrong of me to say that he helped me move the old parts to the new frame. It would probably be closer to the truth that he did it all, and I merely kept him company while he did it. It took the good part of the day and a trip to the bike shop, and the bike was complete (save the missing 24" rear wheel).
Long story short, its great to have moved to a new place and find people so willing to help out their fellow bikers and Robert is definitely one of those people. So if you see him on the board, flying down the trails or catch him on the trails working away at maintaining the them nod to him and say 'yo' cause he's one of the guys out there making the biking community better.
Thanks again Robert.

Thanks Andrew. In the end we did each other a favour.
You'll find the members of NSMB are good people (although a lot of us might not seem like that way while posting on the board ;) ), as is most of the local biking community. I've been helped a lot by various individuals that bike, and NSMB has been invaluable.
Enjoy the riding, the comraderie, and being an official member of Team Big Hit.

Putty, your attempt to win back my respect with a quick post-edit are feeble.
All that can save you now is a day of chain-saw time on lower pangor to fuel my winter building project.

Mountain bikers are the BEST! Six months ago I didn't know any mountain bikers. You guys are all awesome. I have had so much fun with lots of you from nsmb and nsmba. Totally cool to have made so many really good friends.
Guys that have helped teaching me to fling myself off drops, loaning me bike parts when I repeatedly break mine, building "that thing" in my back yard, and letting me insult you and run you down on the trails. :) And JH for fixing my bike on a pretty well daily basis... they are the best!
There... little thanksgiving rant over now. Who wants to go ride tomorrow? :)
