BRUTAL (http://www.canada.com/vancouver/story.asp?id=8C54589A-DA3C-4FE8-8C50-723D3AE30037)

People who do this kind of thing should go to jail.

That booby-trap cowardly bullshit makes me so mad. I heard a story about a guy in the states who ran into something like that
and died in front of his two sons he was riding with.

I've got a pretty good idea where that may have happened. For at least the last ten years the residents have been scrapping with the motorbikes and now quads up in the Hart area. Pretty close to Phiderny but way closer to a major subdivision and many of the trails cross through private land. For the most part, the landowners up there are pretty cool. I guess it just takes one psycho.

They say in the article that the landowner could have been pissed by the noise... so at least it might not have been MTB ers =/

The report said north of town but it actually happened out east somewhere out by the airport. Thank god the guy wasn't killed.

pidherny actualy has alot of older local residents who run, ride, hike & build trails and lobby for land use in the area . "Get cooked", the doctor's trail, screefer, were all built by doctors (imagine the labor cost of these trails, these guys could have been billing the health care system instead)

...how can someone sleep at night, look in the mirror...hell, carry on with life knowing they are responsible for serious injury or death...

my only hope is that the karma these people lost from such cowardice acts is bestowed upon the injured to aid in a full-on recovery...

I'll be on the lookout for any further trail-nazisms... that really sucks, I read it in the paper this morning, good thing the guy is gonna be alright tho.

i heard some people talking about setting up some or the ramps on pidherny with no support so right when you hit the top it'll collapse, be on allert and check the stunt first, there a lots of psyco hicks up here that'll do anything to stop us and the other dirtbikers, atv, etc.

Everyone who comes by walking their dogs or riding dirt bikes and atv's are totally positive. Any time I've been up there building and run into people, they've been really cool with the whole idea and wished us good luck with the trails. There's plenty of room up there. If we could only get the punks who throw their garbage down by the gate to smarten up, the people who live up there would no doubt support the trails even more.

Edit: I didn't realize how many PG guys are actually on here. If any of you are interested, PM me for some info on a trail day in the next week or so. 10 dollar is looking beat and I figure it'll be easier to work now than in the spring when the mosquitos are back and hungry.:D

Transh/n/crash and Get Cooked were mainly built by Nick Manklow and Adam _Cook_, myself and others at our highschool. So that's kinda funny to hear (Adam's dad is a prominent physian in PG tho).
