First-off, big thanks to all those who came out to Sundays Tail Day on Empress Strikes Back (the re-route of the no longer existing Perimiter Trail)
As just noted on another thread, lots of work got done.
I had to wait until today to post this, as I was waiting for feedback from Parks and District.
The trail was inspected today by Susan Rogers (DNV) and Scott Back (Seymour Park Ranger)
and both continue to be impressed by the quality of work and the obvious extensive efforts which have gone into building this trail.
They send kudos to all.
While they have indicated that their is still some minor touch ups that they would like to see eventually completed, the only thing that must be done now before opening the trails is the installation of a few signs to caution hikers and riders to be aware of each other and potential pinch point areas.
Temporary signs are being made by Scott as I write this, and sign posts will hopefully be ready to put in the ground by Thursday or Friday.
I will be working on digging post holes Thurs and Friday as required, and putting up signs as soon as they are ready. (Anybody available to help let me know and we'lll arrange to meet. Excess help and time will be used tidying up and improving a feature on the Empress rock face areas so they are ready.
If all goes well...we can hopefully open up sometime this weekend. Until then...it remains closed, but not for long.
Keep in mind all, whether you go from Empress or directly on to ESB, even though we have tried to make it a hoot to ride compared to Old Buck... ESB is a multi-use trail. So have fun, but show respect and care for others on the trail.
See ya on the tails.....PD
