So I have thought about this before... and it really COULD work if people weren't so totally lame.

We have 3091 members on this board... if whenever some poor schmuck like cam has their bike stolen without insurance we all chipped in a buck..... woohooo!!! new bike... no worries!

Of course it won't work because once again.. people suck.

BUT... then i really started thinking. If we had to pay every time we posted we would solve two problems.
1... idiots posting useless nonsense.
2... slush fund to go to buy new bikes for poor sad schmucks.

I am brilliant. :P

I'd leave if that were the case, but I would give a buck to Cam towards his Scream...... Anyways, I'd say it should be the same way when ICBC rips off us for our vehicles when they get stolen.

Hey Tammy, I've got a better idea. You could host parties for all the high school boys on the board and sell them beer. You could then take the profits to build up your stolen bike fund. It's a winner all around. Money to replace stolen bikes, cheap beer for young guys to get drunk and a bunch of drunk young guys at your house (the cougar's lair) Come to think of it, Judy might want to get in on this too. with 3091 members you'd think we could combine some of our resources and get back a bike that was stolen by a 13 yr-old we know the name of...i don't like the idea of giving up to a little shit like that.

I've thought about it too, chipping in a couple bucks if need be, but with all the stolen bikes, it could get really pricey :(

I would pitch in. Tobad that most people wont, although it could work. It wont hurt any one to send $2, its now a incredibly huge loss.

How about this idea:

Every one who is concerned that their bike might get stolen pays into a pot. When a bike is stolen, there is enough money in the pot to subsidize the purchase of a new one. Wow, we could start a whole new indusrty. Oh wait, it already exists. It's called insurance. Duhh!
