View Full Version : Support needed...once again !!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone,
as some of you may remember, I had prepared a portfolio and presented it to the person at our local council. For some history on the project:
http://bb.nsmb.com/newforum/showthread.php?s=threadid=5040
But I haven't heard from him in ages....
So please be so kind and send him an email stating that you, as a foreign mtb rider, are impressed by the idea of building and maintaining a legal network of shore trails in my area.
That this is the big thing for the local economy, for touristy stuff etc...
His name is Mr. Kroenig and his email is info@ksb-en.de
It seems as if he needs some more email in his account before the things will start to roll once more.
Thanx in advance...
If you have any questions, write me a pm.
Peace.

I vaguely recall something about this before:)
But the link is dead.
Refresh us?
I'm sure some of us can e-mail and BS the Dude for ya:D
Dear Loopie, dear members of the board.
At the end of last year I had the idea of forwarding some plans for a network of "northshore -type" stunts and trails.
The spokesperson of the town who is in charge of such things said that I had to contact the municipal's ministry of sport.
I wrote a portfolio on the background with some nice info from the nsmba-website, complete with a letter on why I wanted these trails, named suitable areas etc.
I then posted the issue on several bbs, asking for support. I wrote a letter to be copied and emailed to this guy.
He literally drowned in emails, not just from Canada, but Australie, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland, USA etc.
He invited me to a meeting, I gave him the file, we had a chat, he said he'll contact me as soon as possible.
The last email is from June this year. Since then I haven't heard ANYTHING - although I have emailed him quite a few.
I feel that my wish is ignored and that his behavior is not reflected in his words.
For several reasons I want this trails to be built:
1)In Germany, Bike parks are popping up like shrooms after a good shower.
2) It would definitely boost tourism to the area. And it would de-escalate the usual conflicts.
3) Freeriding and the like is here to stay, and before some dorks are going to destroy the little reputation the scene has over here, it would be better to built legal trails.
If you need any more info, feel free to contact me.

My INexperienced recommendation is to....drum up LOCAL support along with International e-mail support.
And get/keep things on a person to person basis. You have to have a rapport with him.
You live in the area? Fuck the e-mails. Go talk to the guy:)
Now...the thread is very old - but since you Canadians have some "issues" with your local authorities, i thought maybe let you know the "news" about my little side project i was sooo enthusiastic about nearly three years ago.
Now the update:
1) I have never ever heard from the guy again - never replied to my emails, not even to letters, as did his "bosses"
2) The public opinion/mood considering riding/dhilling/freeriding seems to be bad, if not worse - had a local meeting with some residents on a local dh track a few weeks ago - and they went nuts, were afraid of their property, us bikers only weirdos etc...
3) i have started to collect signatures for support of a dj park in the town i am working at a school. together with my students we talked to people in the streets - we collected like 100 signatures in four (!) hours.....most people just went straight on didn't even care what we were trying to say or talk about - what the fuck is wrong with the people in this country ???
4) i have "rent" some land where i am building my own private stuff: some berms, djs, a few bridges - i am so fed up with the local authorities that i no longer care about this project outlined by myself a couple years ago....

That's really disappointing to hear that a community could be so insupportive of a sport as to completely demotivate the original idea maker.
It's good that you have some property that you can legally do your own stunts on, but shit.. it's nothing like full santioned trails is it? :(
Here's my suggestion dude: Move to Vancouver!
That's what i am planning to do - want to work as a teacher in BC....probably no place like BC on Earth. Have been there three times and am soo in love it hurts  but at the moment money is the issue - have to finish my apprenticeship first.
You're right - having a small plot of land is nothing like surfing singletrail...but hey, complaining won't change anything.
