View Full Version : Riding in Kelowna
Since the shore is closed I plan on making a trip to the interior in September. Does anyone know some good trails in Kelowna? Both good XC rides or some shore type stuff?
I found these:

This looks promising, anyone ride it?

I may be wrong but im pretty sure almost all the lower half of the province is closed. Williams lake is open, as is whistler and sun peaks.(- i think). There is supposed to be a few days of rain this weekend, maybe that will open up the shore.
THINK OF HOW NICE CBC WILL BE!!

Everything is still closed up there and will be for a while I think. Just talked to a friend who works at a shop in Penticton and he says that they're doing a good business in road bikes. I would imagine its the same in Kelowna except that every bike sold comes with your choice of a fire extinguisher or a fire axe.

sounds like your plan depends on some rain arriving. better have a back-up plan.

You are pretty dumb.
Its all over the News. if caught in the Kelowna backcountry. Fined $10000 and/or 6 months in Jail.
That would sure be a sweet but expensive riding trip:rolleyes:
Primo DHer you dumbass, of course I'm not going riding if things are closed. If the shore is closed and things are open in the interior (as they were earlier this year) then I'll make the trip. My friend is a firefighter in Kelowna so I know damn well what the situation is up there.

Kazz, even if they open up the trails around Kelowna, you're left with Powers, Knox and a bunch of XC trails. Not really worth it IMO. If you're that close to Sun Peaks, I'd head there.
