Still trying to get this SLR thing down. The lighting is the hardest part to get especially at night. I tried some of those city shots at complete dark and they turned out really pixalted. It was also so smokey out too. I guess only time will help. No photoshop on these besides the odd level touch. Hopefully get some more riding shots soon but enjoy these for now.

Hes using film in these shots, before he used your basic point and shoot digital camera, like yours, the A70 is a basic point and shoot digital camera. Hes using an older film SLR camera that has interchangable lenses. It also has a flash mount and my favorite effect the amazing depth of field.

There is Film-SLR, Digital-SLR, and regular film and digital you know. I'll let someone else explain, or go look fore yourself.

I can't wait to go out taking pics with my SLR again! Great shots btw. Also can't wait for the Pentax Digital-SLR!

SLR and digital are not exclusive.

In general, SLR's usually have interchangable lens, flash systems, more flexibility, etc.

If you spend the money, you can have a digital SLR with all the same advantages.

For correct lighting, go fully manual and play around. In a very short time you'll know what aperature and shutter speed settings to use just by sight. This is also good for playing with depth of field and shutter speed.

Film speed is very important. If you use a 100 speed film during the day, the pics will be very crisp. But 100 speed at night will not work well at all unless you're taking a picture of a close object while using a powerful flash.
