Finally figured out somewhat how to use this thing. Shooting with an ancient Nikon EM over 20 years old but love it. I can't beleive I passed this thing up before. After a few rolls that where wrecked cause of my lack of knowledge finally got something. These are my first ever shots using the SLR, hopefully better things to come in the future. Full res is on my site that is why some may look a little bad. These are some of the bets from a roll. Enjoy.

Yah, those are some sweet pictures you have goin on there.
I used to have a SLR, Canon one. When I was about 6 I took the thing apart, and screwd with all the insides. I regret that so much, but hey I was 6.
Fuck, now I'm even more pissed.

Having lense choices makes things so much easier, you are able to stand places and get the same shot as standing 2 feet away.

cool pics.
using an SLR really makes you appreciate the ease of use that digis have, but if you know your stuff you can usually do more things with an SLR.
when talking about manual cameras, age doesn't really matter too much if everything's in working order. SLR camera technology hasn't really changed, cameras just come with more automatic options and such nowadays. my camera is from the 70s. it was canons top end model back then and it can still hold it's own today.

Read the manual and grab a 'basic photography' book from the library.
It's not hard. Even my sister knows how.

i have a canon A-1 and 4 lenses that i use regularly. a 26mm, a 50mm, a 35-105mm and a 100-300mm. rarely use the big zoom but it's cool to have just in case.
i took a really cool photo class at my university and we used negative scanners to import our images then used photoshop to clean them up. we'd scan them at 2200dpi then convert it to 9x6"@300dpi. the quality was amazing. we had kick ass printers too.
i can show you some stuff if you want, but it ain't biking pics :]

ahhh..Im afraid the F-1 was the top end model. The a-1 was its little brotheren...:thepimp: i actually prefer the A series best. And the AT-1 has no automatic feature so you gotta be really good.
Lets see these pics bro.

Steve you've inspired me to get off my feet and spend 11 dollars on 75 shots of film, borrow a nice SLR thanks to Jerry Willow and spend 20 dollars developing film to take some nice SLR pics. I'm picking them up in 4 minutes and I cant wait!!!

Time to buy another HD! Nice photos Steve, welcome to SLR land. I bet you'll never go back to your non-SLR digi (unless film cost kicks your ass). You should invest in a light meter and external flash if you don't already have them. Hahaha NSMB pictur guy. I don't think that's me - I'd have to be posting photos on a regular basis, which would require taking photos which in turn requires me to not be at work. I pulled a 17.5h day on Friday :(
