How do Co2 cartridges work to inflate your tires? Do you neeed a pump? Are they worth $6 each ?
they push CO2 into your tires... you don
t need a pump but u need an adaptor thing that the cartrige slides into
I dunno if they are worth 6$ but I'm poor so whatever.

great if your racing and time really matters. On the trail I would use a pump. Then if you get another flat, or find out you pinched your tube, etc, you always have more air.
They do work pretty good, but depending on the weather will sometimes freeze up. I am a bit of a gear freak and of course had to try them, but went back to a pump.
edit: all cartridges need an adapter, some are threaded and just need a little adapter, and some are not threaded and need a larger adapter that goes around them. Usually the non-threaded ones are only 12g and you probably need more than one to fill your tire, but they are cheaper. Threaded usually 16g or 25g (your supposed to check a chart and see which size your tire needs). Depending on adapter some say you can use part of the cartridge and save rest for later, bullshit. Once you open, the faster it gets into your tire the less the adapter freezes.
