ummm 700x2.3? mine is a 2.25 but whatever.
as for the spring. i have an 800 and in the short wheelbase its not as plush but still descently and more for drops and hard dits on rocks and stuff. but it pedals awesome. then in the Dh mode it pedals descently, not AS good, but it is awesomely plush and soaks stuff up really nicely.
i'd say 700lb is a good all rounder.

i'm 215. plus the minimal gear i wear. leg pads + skid + shorts + t shirt....sometimes i got a backpack with water and tool.
but whatever. my suggest is try a 500 first and then bump up to a 600 (if they make em) if it's too plush. all depends on riding/preference too. kind of a guess and check thing.

Zaskar (Cam?) what are you running on the back? Don't you have a Romic or something? I guess since i have a 700lb spring that's what I'll use for the next while.

yea it's Cam.
I have a Fox Rc, just stock valving.

Valving sets up how a shock feels and works. THe spring merely sets ride hight. On some shocks with shitty valving the spring must function to make up for the valving.
