I never ever thought of this until it happened. I slapped on a friend's 26" wheel onto the rear... with some pimpin' .243 tires and went for a spin up SFU. I shift into the smallest chain ring and I hear some rubbing -- the front derailleur cage is rubbing against my tire! The wheel isn't true -- I can see which part of the revolution where it rubs -- but it ain't that bad, I thought it would be more forgiving than that.

1. of all you .243's out there, SOME of you must have dual chain rings -- ever have this problem?

2. i'm gonna true the wheel but it may not help -- suggest any other tires to try (I really liked the 26" rear vs the 24")

i ride the 2.5 maxxis highroller on a 26" rear wheel and i looks like i have enough clearance to hold a 2.8. and well i have a 2002 .243 so maybe if u have a different year then it might have been changed i can' think of any other suggestion than going witha smaller tire.

hope this post helped in some way.

Ever concider doul 24"s? It rides exactly the same the bike just feels a tiny bit smaller and is easier to throw around. If not, then I would just loose the front derauler? Or unless you really need it, get a smaller rear tire maybe a tiogo 2.35 or something like that.
