“Take the best skateboarders, BMX riders, and motorcycle riders and turn them loose on some of the most twisted, wild ramps, complete with a background of hard-driving music by cutting edge bands -- and what do you get? An event called Tony Hawk's Boom Boom HuckJam that’s sold out arenas around the country, thrilling kids and their parents with what the athletes call action sports.” – CNN
“It’s a glitzy rock 'n' roll circus on wheels with action sports and music stars under one tent. It’s sort of like the Ice Capades with a halfpipe and a house band instead of ice.” – Los Angeles Times

BOOM BOOM HUCKJAM IS BACK
LAGUNA BEACH, CA – May 2, 2003 – The celebrated arena tour showcasing the premier talents in action sports and music is coming around again this fall. Kicking off Oct. 2, 2003, in Vancouver, Activision presents Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom HuckJam for seven weeks across North America.
Hawk is already busy assembling the next dream team for this unrivaled production. So far, HuckJam vets Dave Mirra, Mat Hoffman, Andy Macdonald, Bucky Lasek, Carey Hart and Clifford “The Flyin' Hawaiian” Adoptante have signed on and are amped to hit the ramps with Hawk. “It’s such a cool environment with great music and the best bikers and skaters in the world feeding off each other’s energy, so it pulls the best tricks out of everyone,” says Hoffman, who will be back alongside fellow BMX stars Mirra John Parker, Simon Tabron and Kevin Robinson.
Last year’s tour – the first national arena tour to features skateboarders, BMXers and Motocross riders as the arena headliners – packed major venues from coast to coast. At the heart of the show is a million-dollar ramp system, which includes a massive halfpipe encircled by a Motocross track, enabling Moto-X riders to launch over the skate ramp. When the riders went off all at once, it was possible to see Tony and Hoffman pull synchronized 720s while Hart floated a “superman” over the ramp. Nearby, meanwhile, music rocked the house.
The unprecedented 2002 tour received a flood of press, with articles in scores of major metropolitan newspapers, a feature on the CBS news show “60 Minutes,” and an hour-long special that aired on ESPN, MTV2 and Fox Sports Net.
In addition to Hawk, Macdonald and Lasek, the skateboarding crew includes Lincoln Ueda and Sergie Ventura. The HuckJam wouldn’t be complete without the madness of Moto X freestyle riders Hart, Adoptante, Ronnie Faisst, Drake McElroy and Dustin Miller. “Last year was a such a success,” Hawk says of the tour’s debut, “and there is no doubt that this year is going to be bigger and better.”
Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom HuckJam is once again presented by video game giant Activision. Initial sponsors supporting the tour are Hershey's Milk and Frito Lay's Go Snacks. The tour is being produced by SLAM Management..
Here are the scheduled dates (subject to change):
10/2/03 Vancouver, BC, GM Place
