Gosh, that's really too bad, he was such an open minded, all embracing editor <sarcasm off>. He did a lot for mountain biking in the early year...too bad he couldn't roll with the changes.

That magazine has been going downhill for years, the only 'interesting' content was Zap's opinionated columns.
Damn - I still have over a year left on my subscription.

The best thing about that mag is Dan Koepl (I haven't a clue how to spell his last name) the guy who does the "Hug the Bunny" at the end. That guy is hilarious. Zap was okay but I was never really a huge fan.

Zap had a hayday back in the early 90's when his stupid earings and regurgitated editorials were considered good. I think he sucks.

Agreed... that guy's hilarious! I miss him since I let my subscription lapse a couple of years ago.

all he ever seemed to ramble on about was his obsession with planes, and the evils of freeriding.
i'm glad my subscription ended a few years back.

All of the mags are beat. Flow is the best and even they are nepitistic in that they focus all their editorial and article energy blindly promoting companies that spend big cake advertising with them. The only way I could be satisfied is if the local scene gets big enough to support its own scene (something like concrete powder) That would be cool. Until then they are all impostor mag's sucking of the wallets of the richest companies. Zero journalistic integrity. With that rant done I would like to point out that the canadian scene is where it is at and we have the most talented riders and builders per capita.

Anyone else got an article with explanations etc?
