my bike is broken, and i need a bike for next week, only for like 2 days.
if any of you kind souls would be glad to lend me there bike for 2 days, it would be MUCH appreciated.
i don't ride hard or anything, and i'm really light, so i won';t brake anything.
so if you could lend me your bike, then you could answer here or pm me:D

(preferably hardtails:o)

edit: i need it, because my old pal from clagary is coming out to vancouver next week, and we are going to ride together, and i have no bike:(

It's broken, but don't worry...he's light, and doesn't break bikes.

Kids these days aren't afraid at all to ask for charity, huh?

He can trade you some belly lint or give you his allowance money for usage of your bike.

Hi,

I am a stranger to all of you, except for my prescence on the Internet.

Can any of you lend me, the guy you don't know, your $2500 asset, so I can ride with another guy you don't know? I promise I won't damage it, and that I will give it back to you once I am done riding it.

Thank you, drive through.

haha mulletdork, but you know what? if i actually had another rig and i lived over there, i WOULD lend it to him because i know what its like not to be able to ride when your bike is broke. i've lent my one bike to peeps in times of need without problems. as far as i'm concerned, any rider is a brother to trust. lol, i lent fitzy my bike for over 2 months last summer when i was injured and the first thing he did was bust a brake lever. but no biggie, he fixed it and it was all good because he got to ride instead of sitting around like i had to. :)

You can borrow my bike for $600.

You don't even have to give it back.

You are quite trusting. Blainedork.

I wouldn't lend a bike to anyone I don't know well.

Any rider is a brother to trust? Yeah right! I don't think all the stolen bikesare being melted down for the molten metal for jewelery. Who is fuelling bike theft? Those "brothers to trust" man. There are some bad ass apples out there.

I saw one at Seymour a few weeks back, riding somebody's stolen Foes. Maybe he was just borrowing it and decided to repaint it for the guy?

Not trying to be mean at all, just be careful!!

Neo
08-13-2003, 12:16 PM
yea corey i know what you mean, but when you are lending a rig, there are precautions you can take you know. pieces of ID, dropping it off at his home, name of parents, etc... any trusting fellow rider would be more than happy to supply any details in order to borrow a bike honestly. i know i would if i was in the same situation.

Neo
08-13-2003, 12:21 PM
and hell, if i knew i wasn't using my only bike that day, i'd lend it to him. i simply hate seeing fellow riders not being able to ride when it counts because i know that feeling and it sux :(

True enough. If you are overly cautious and such and willing to go out of your way to do so, I guess.

But, personally, I would only lend to somebody I feel I know well. :)

Sure I'll loan you my bike......just as soon as I finish sending my banking details to that hotmail account in Nigeria. Hell I'm gonna be soooo rich after this deal goes down that you can keep my damn hardtail! :) Ya, right!

after being burned several times , the only things i lend out are things i don't mind losing or broken ( very few things ) . if you do borrow , the rule is : be prepared to replace or repair , no questions asked !

jesuz christ you guys are lame. a bike is a fucking material thing. of course its valuable but if my bike gets damaged in someone else's use, then i know they were riding hard - it is freeride after all. i would just make sure that who ever i was lending it to was aware that if they did do any damage, then they are responsible for it, scratches aside  fuck i can't believe some of you. so much for helping out fellow riders.

Yup, I let my buddies ride my bike. If I'm not using something I'll lend it out. If I'm ever borrowing stuff from someone, I won't ride it hard. I'll keep it within my abilities.
Loaning stuff out is not a problem for me, but I dunno about to someone I don't know. If you lived in Richmond, and I had a bike of my own to lend, I'd do it for sure.

loaning a bike is just asking for trouble

if he's gonna ride carefully and not damage a single thing then he shouldn't have any problem giving a $3500 cash deposit

i've loaned my bike to a number of peeps without a problem and it feels good knowing i'm helping a fellow rider. nuff said.

I'm kinda on Mullet's side of this opinion/debate re: lending.

I do lend to those I know- bunny has had my forks for well over a month while hers were in the Marz. line up of warranty returns - but I know her, and that she would fix any damage if created (and she bent my arch on her first ride, now I have an Envy arch, thanks bunny)

BUT - if this kid can't afford to fix his own bike - what would happen if he damaged yours and it cost a lot of money to fix?
