ok, thats a weekly occurance for me!! a daily one if you are riding whistler!

i break a derailer every 2 weeks :( they just fall apart no matter what
a shift cable every time i ride whistler.

Whistler is harsh on parts. You get like, 15 runs in a day, vs like, 1 or 2 you'd have on the shore. The bumps are crazy on derailleurs

fulls are a lot harder on derailleurs, chains, cables and hangers.

Aslong as you keep checking your limit screws you should not have a problem sending them into the spokes.

If your bike falls apart you need to learn to set it up right. I have yet to break a derailer cable, derailer or anything yet at whistler and or shore in the past 8 months. That and single speed is for lamers.

I have had the same XT for almost a seaso0n then it broke. I don't think that full suspensions are harder on derailleurs, if anything there easier. Single speed doesn't work on full suspension unless you have a chain tensioner, in which case you might as well run a rear derailleur. Save the singlespeeds for velodrome and BMX

I havn't broken any rear deraulers on whistler either, cept for the time I took my chain off and the wheels out and one of the bolts fell off because I forgot to take it out. But then I just got a new one from the LBS. I've been running it since last augest. Time for a new one pretty soon.
