Woo-hoo!
Awesome amount of work done today. That trail is long, and compared to 10 days ago it's in so much better shape. Now if we could just get a good rain to pack down the dirt.
A big thanks to John Henry for a great BBQ lunch. :)
Another big thanks to whoever donated the schwag. The kid that won the fork was pretty happy. :)
And another big thanks to the Israeli guys who were visiting, yet still made time to come out and do a ton of work. :) Puts the peeps who live around here and ride Seymour to shame...

Thanks for coming out guys!
We had about 40+ people out today.
We'll have to wait for some rain to pack down the dirt before we open it. Its progressing well.
See you next Sunday on Pingu!
Sorry i can't make next sunday's trail day on Pingu, i got my gift opening that day;) :D

About the Gutsploders guys Van.
Their van was STOLEN!
If anyone saw anything suspicious on Ann McDonald Way after 11:30 report it to the police. I don't have a description of the van, but it has their name on it.

What!?!?!?!?! Wow that sucks. Good thing that dude from gutsploder took his a-line out of the van and brought it onto the trail with him - that would have made the theft all the worse. If anyone has any info or saw anything please report it to the BC Parks Rangers at 929-4818 or the North Van RCMP. I don't think that there have been any major issues with break in or thefts in that area in the recent past, but we should stay on top of these things so they don't get out of hand. Sorry to hear about your van Gutsploder Dudes - I'll keep an eye out for it!

Trail looks really good. It is amazing to see the amount of work that 40+ motivated people can get done in a day. Thanks to JH for the burgers and stuff.... Did Lee Lau donate that fork as a prize? If so - way to go man!!!! Can't wait until the official opening!

'Twas a 2002 DJ1.
That really sucks about the van being stolen.
Sharon, why is there a trail day on Pingu? The trail is pretty good. Couldn't we do some rockwork on Pangor, or help Mark with the new section on Corkscrew? Only thing I can think of that would be nice on Pangor is a tranny off that ramp to flat jump.

The top section of Pingu is getting rutted.
Mark doesn't want help on the corkscrew.
There are already 4 people working on Pangor.
We might have a crew on Empress.

I don't think we need another day on Pangor. I think we can take care of the rest of the trail pretty easily.
Praise someone for this rain we are getting, good for little new empress.

Pingu needs some switchbacks bad. It's OK when its dry but its a raging torrent when it rains because the trail goes mach downhill

The problem is that rocks don't stick to the top of that trail. After last years trail day the rocks all fell loose. Too many people with their brakes locked up!

no brakes on that part, just build a big berm at the end, and you can carry lots of speed into the flat part.
i mean a big berm!
I will be at the Pingu day... swimming will finally be over!
I agree that work should be done on Pingu, it only makes sense to provide a better alternative to Neds that doesn't kick out into residential areas.

It should be log ride to berm and long ride to berm and log ride to berm and straight away to the end with a hip here and there....
