It seems like I'll need to replace my rear hub to switch from a single track to a double track due to the decrease in spoke count (36 -> 32). Anyhow while at whislter I've heard some crazy rear hubs that make no noise or a totally high pitch noise while free wheeling.

Any ideas which ones these are?

Stealth hubs are just that, stealth. They make no noise whatsoever...

Hadley's make a REALLY loud clicking while Chris Kings produce a very unique "buzzing" sound...

If it was dead quiet, it was probably a stealth.

If it was a loud clicking, it was probably a Hadley. Those are commonly speced on Norco duallies.

It was a buzzing like a bee in your ear sound, it was probably Chris King. Mmm Yummy.

Coulda been a White Industries hub as well. They make a very mechanical click. exactly like those ratcheting straps, each click is a distinct click.

Chris King sound's like a weed wacker.

If you are asking about which one to get, Chris King and Hadely are super sweet. The White is equally sweet, but not as many pawls as a King.

I have never heard of anyone running the Stealth hubs. Just a he-said-she-said about people riding them. I am extremely curious if anyone has any experience on these. Instant engagement is sweet, but durability is a MASSIVE concern. Anyone got any opinions?

If the mechanism in the stealth hubs is a sprag clutch, then there should be no concerns about durability. We have two sprag clutches (one 50hp and one 250hp) and both are awesome. Very easy to work on.

Ringles are hella loud!

Kings aren't too bad.

Razor Rocks are fairly loud.

My Hayes was silent until it broke (maybe it broke in relation to the silence)
