rode cypress today for the first time after wanting to for a long time. im gettin tired of seymour and fromme is a hike. so i thought id give cypress a shot. its dope. went with Mike and Wilkez. word to the 'Lude. I made sure to rank on the gas all the way up and shuttle it twice with them. Got there bout 5 or so.
First run...
5th Horseman. Loved it. Kind of eroded/dusty but its a great change. I didnt realize you could have such a change in the riding just one mountain over. I'd like to do the drop at the beginning next time. Maybe now that I know what the trails like. The end is great, just let off and giv'er. If anyone is ever goin up count me in :D
Second run...(correct me mike, bad with trail names)
Wild Cherry > Cherry Bomb > Roach Clip > Roach Hits. Nice stuff. The Cherry Bomb is pretty sick. steep but its the tranny that scares me, they were sayin there used to be a ladder half way down and I can totally see it bein cool with one. Some nice trails. Easier than 5th IMO but then again any trail is cool in its own way. Wilkez took a fluke bail after a wicked start to the run and ended up walking out :( Let's send some karma out to him. Last I saw his parents picked him up from JH to go check out his swollen up and lumpy hand. Word to Mike for showin me up and showin me the stuff. Now that I know the trail a bit I can step it up a notch. Should be cool.
LOST..IF FOUND PLEASE LAUGH. ;)
took two bails today. First comin down a eroded part of the trail and had my lowers that drop down past the axle smoke in to a rock that was jutting out. no dent or anything. it's a 2001 manitou xvert carbon dh so it comes down past the axle on the lowers. anyways, anyone know where i can get a new adjustment knob? it broke off somewhere. i noticed at the bottom. second bail? hahaha 10 feet down from there smoked in a tree trying to avoid another tree nicely placed in the middle of it gettin back on the bike. Beauty eh? Meh, dirt makes it funner.
Cam = Stoked On Riding :)
One of those days that reminds you why biking is more fun that water polo.
P.S. saw remnants of the cypress massacre :(
