My disc caliper was aligned really well before. The disc was really close to the stationary pad, therefore, I was able to obtain a very solid and crisp lever pull.
I had to loosen up the caliper today because something screwed up, and I'm having difficulty moving the disc to the stationary pad close enough to obtain the same lever feel I use to have. I have the avid disc brakes, and everytime I align it, it'll just rub. I'd have to dial out the stationary pad outwards until itll stop rubbing while the wheel is spinning. This would just result in a very mushy lever feel because it has to bend the disc more!
I usually just loosen up the two dials on the caliper, push the swing arm until it locks the disc firmly, tighten the bolts on the claiper onto the forks, and then just dial out the two pads until it'll stop rubbing.
Are there any tricks on how to move the disc to the stationary pad as close as possible?
