hey guys, how ya doing. um, i have a 2003 bighit comp with sliders up front and a fox r in the back. I weigh 200 pounds, and the bike right now is way to soft. I can bottom the slider out just my bunnyhopping. What weight springs should i get for both back and front. I think that i am going to get the mountain speed spring for the rear. I was thinking 750 pounds? help. oh ya, i like big old roof drops so it has to be a little stiff.

The front get the X-Heavy springs. They come stock with the mediums (for people weighing about 150). If you want it a bit stiffer, get the heavy, if you want it a good bit stiffer, get the X-Heavy.

Doesn't the slider rock? I love mine :)

Grab a 750 or 800 pound spring. What do you have now? I know UFO has an 800 to trade for a 700.

with the 6" rear, I wouldn't go more than 600....even 650 is pushing it. Two tips, learn to ride smoother and keep the suspension in the middle progressiveness setting. If you don't use all your suspension when you fuck up landings, then you're not getting full advantage of having the suspension. What's the point of having it if you never use it?

the heavier weight rear spring u use, teh less intial small bump absorption your bike will have....

try to not run a spring any heavier then u need to....

so if i weigh 190, i should go with a 650 in the back and a x firm up front?

yes a 650 should be about right for you...

ask your LBS if u can try the 650, then if its to heavy/not heavy enuf u can swap it for the one u actually need...

im sure the shop would let u do that...as for the Slider i think the X-heavy spring should be what your searching for...
o

p.s. before u buy the x-heavy spring for your Slider give Manitou a call/emial and ask em about your bikesetup/weight... they'll let u know if the X-heavy spring is right for you...

god luck...

its a single spring so it shouldnt be that bad...u'll have to ask your LBS thou..

if i had to guess i'd say like 50-80$cdn should be about right...but i could be way off...

i dont believe mountain speed make rear springs anymore, or they no longer contract eibach to make them.

Slider spring weights.

150 - 170 - Medium
170 - 190 - Firm
190 - 215 - X-Firm

Id get a 700 at least for the rear. My brothers who weighs like 160 rode a 500 b/c thats all he could get he then got a 650 and its still way to light hes gona get a 750 next. But hes really hard on stuff. But if you are sitll alot heavier youd probibly need somthing like a 700.
