where's the cheapest place to buy hayes. are the hfx mags worth the extra bling over the hfx 9 hd's???
Right now I think the best deal are the old model Blacks (I think) for $95 US at http://jensonusa.com. Im looking one myself.
Up here in canada, Bikeroom would be good over the net, then Overtime.
Mag over HFX9: the mags have better pads and hoses, and the lever is a more proven design, hfx9 are known to be a bitch to bleed. Post up the price difference when you find it and then we could tell.

I have both and i like my hfx 9 just as much as the mag. I got my hfx 9 for 109$ at my lbs. With the hfx 9 you get a a bleed kit with the brake. The Id jsut saydont get the comps those are the only ones ive had bade experiances with.

If you can hold out, give the Shimano Saint's a shot. I have yet to bleed a brake that bleeds as easily as the new XTR. And the Saint's are supposed to be equally powerful, but better modulation than the old 4pot XT's. Course, they will probally be very expensive and you are limited to SAINT hubs or getting the old XT rotors.
The rotor kinda screws on to the hub, and the hub probably will require you to use a new derailuer, and the discs probably need some intergrated brake lever shifters, which means you gotta get saint discs front and rear, in the end you replace half your bike for a brake.

This is why we should try and boycott shimano. I hope srams triggers will be good.

Oh they are. Pip and the banshee boys love them so much you will not find any shimano components spec'ed on any banshee except front derailuers, because there is no other option.
When I was at Whistler during the Gravity Fest I arrived back at the expo to late to try and find the triggers, but I did manage to get 3 rockshox and 1 sram poster

You can use the XT rotors, and the SAINT should be offered with non-shift brake levers.
Mike at Shimano wasn't exactly clear on it, but they will be make their presence and we will know exactly what's up.
Chris King should have an adapter out soon as well.
