So I am really thinking that this might be a good way to improve my riding. I have only done it a couple of times by accident... but I had awesome rides. Has anyone else done this? Seriously. :P

You're out of control, bunny. First all this talk of pancakes, and now this.
Having said that, I do tend to ride with a lot more control when riding without armor. OTOH, smashing your big toenail can be quite ugly.

Oh bunny, your poor feet. I am having nightmares of your feet accidently getting caught between the chain and the sprocket. Hamburger anyone?

Which leads me to conclude that switching to flip flops would eliminate crankarm rub...
bad idea. i did that once, wont do it again

oh. is that where all the paint is worn off the back part of my bike? so maybe i would learn to ride with my feet not touching... i don't think it's good for the bike anyways.

you probably liked it alot more because the flip flops are so flexy and can flex right around your p-edals. try getting a reall really flexy pair of skate shoes, taht should do the trick. when i was a little kid on my supersyclle 16" wheeled bike i was riding with flip flops and i fell and skined a 1/4" of skin off my big toe. it wasn't fun :(
my flip flop story
riding around wearing flipflops on the street.. i go to buny hop a curb and my foot slips. the peddal claimed my entire toe nail.. :|
it sorta cracked it and broke most of it, then i got to pull the rest of it off so dirt didnt get under it.

Cut bunny some slack. It doesn't matter as long as she is having fun. Riding with flip flops is the very epitome of "freeriding." So is unicycling nude up Mt. Everest with a frozen butt and "chafing." (I'm glad I wasn't there to witness that.)
Bunny, have you thought of moving to Hawaii? You'd fit right in with your flip flop island riding style.:)

they already have clipless sandals, and my sandals convert into flip flops, so I can actually see this happening...
Course, I will gladly watch someone else wear them...step right up Tammy!

While we were there we say a number of porters climbing in flip flops carrying about 75 kgs and leaving the big fat uber tourists in the dust. It was our joke after that that every really hard pitch we came across would be rated in how easy would could climb that in our flip flops

I'm not really sure why anyone cares Bunny. Wear what you like, and if riding trails in flip flops and a baseball hat makes you happy, give er.
At very least, wear a helmet. You will crash, and I don't think you should jeopardize a good trail by bringing in a rescue crew to haul you in your beach gear off our favourite trail! You do carry some responsibility, at least with a lid on it looks like you made an effort.
Be forwarned, you will crash some time, and doing so in your beach gear is gonna mess you up bad.

I Have a pair of these for light trail riding.

Anything more would be a little sketchy for me but I am sure someone could ride them all the time.
