Kona???

Has anyone here bought a Stinky (not dee-lux) and have problems with it?

i dont have one, but if you are looking in to that type of bike, just get a bighit comp. It is so much nicer than the stinky. I mean, the name says it all

but why is it nicer?
does it do the dishes for you?
does it get you to bed when you feel bad?>
or is there some sort of ride charactursic (sp) that you feel is much better than a stinky..

I have ridden many stinkeys and i feel that the bighit handles better stock than the kona. The stinkey frame set is equally as nice, i am just saying that the way the stinkey was build (component wise) they do not really match the bike. I am not trying to diss kona. I just feel that the bighit is so much nicer for some one who does not want to spend alot of money

Don't listen to him. Go with the Stinky. Better looking anyways. I test rode a Big Hit Comp and didn't care for it to much. To bouncy. That vertical rear suspension design is great. Besides Specialized is to into themselves. Patenting everything and whatnot. Literally becoming the biggest bike company out there now. Give Kona a chance. I am actually saving now to get the 04 Stinky.

I want to apoligize... from reading my post i realized that i made the kona sound like a pos. Its not... Kona is equally as nice as the bighit if not more in some ways. Ya, dont listen to me, get a kona. But i will say that i do love my bighit. I could give a damn about the company rep. I just ride bikes that handle good. And i do agree. the fox r is to bouncy, but dont blame that on the bighit.

i ride an 01 stinky and i love it. only problem that ive seen is the rear arch on the rear tryangle cracks easy. other than that i love it. also u can upgrade rear travel with dangerbot plates givin 7" of travel with the stock rear shock witha 24" wheel

ALSO, GET SOMETHING THAT LOOKS GOOD TOO. YOU'LL RIDE BETTER ALSO, KNOWING YOU HAVE A GOOD LOOKING BIKE. BESIDES THE SPECS BETWEEN THE BIG HIT AND THE STINKY ARE BASICALLY THE SAME. AND THEY ARE SIMPLE TO CHANGE.

kona has an awesome warranty!!!!!!!

they offer this thing called "nothing"! its a special deal where instead of haggling with reps and stuff for a broken bike or parts, you cry in bed at night wondering you bought a kona that has no warranty whatsoever.

IMO this is the best asset that kona has going for them...I mean; who likes talking with warranty reps over the phone...
