Allrighty. I'm running one of the new profile evolution BB's. Great stuff. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's a American (BMX) bottombracket with an internal cup threading that secures the BB in place. So no more fooling around with cuppresses and mallets. Convenient BB removal/maintenance/tinkering. Problem is, I'm using a driveside-cup mounted chainguide. Now normally I'd put an extra spacer (2mm) next to the internal bearing spacer (the silver/68mm one for me) to compensate for the offset driveside cup and still prevent bearing binding. But with the evolution BB the actual cups have a minuscule amount of play in the shell, so when it's not completely tightened against the bb shell sides it will shift from left to right. So basically I need to space with the exact same amount as the chainguide mount is thick. This is a real pain in the ass to machine properly, as even the slightest variation can cause a small gap, making it impossible to really secure the chainguide. I mean it'll sit firm..but it with some force it can still be moved. After contacting profile they said they do not recommend the use of cup mounted chainguides in combination with the evolution BB. So basically I'm looking for an alternative chainguide solution for a le toy III. Any ideas?

a freind of mine had this problem when he got a idenity hardtail. The bb wigled so much though he jsut sent back the frame. Im saying it might be your fame. Have a good bikeshop look at it and they will figure it out.

Ah yeah well. It's not the frame. They are supposed to slide, according to profile anyways. The evolution is a BMX BB that uses threads to tighten itself into the shell. You fix it by tightening it to the shell sides. It works fine without the chainguide mounted, solid as a brick. Even with the guide it's not like it's sliding from left to right a whole lot. We're talking instances of a mm here, but just enough to not completely secure it. Checkout http://www.profileracing.com/loader.php?load=shop&productid=101
