No personal experience, but they do seem to be real popular. So I guess there is a reason behind it. In all the time the Dorados were out I havent heard one bad thing about them.

I know people have ridden them , but "freeriding" them, man, you must be crazy! Thats extreme!

Both quality forks, able to withstand all kinds of abuse. I think you would be happy with either one.

Unless you are Mr. Money bags (or whatever that guy's name is from Monopoly) stick with the slider. Also if you are looking into the two both are amazing (i'm assuming sherman slider) though the dorado is ment for pure down hilling it still works for freeriding. The slider is ment for freeriding and is set up to do that well. Both are sweet forks and both won't let you down.

I'm not sure what everyone else does with their sliders and dorado's, but I definatelty freeride mine. Dorado on the DH bike and slider on the hardtail. I wouldn't go back. The slider is a super stiff setup, the Dorado definately has more of a DH feel and is ultra smooth. The only downside with any expensive fork is that there's always the chance that you'll wreck it. The 7" '04 sherman should be a super nice fork, probably ideal for bigger travel freeride bikes.
