Franken derailleur

I really like the sram 1:1 cable pull ratio. I think it provides way more positive shifts and gives me less adjustment problems. here's the issue: I want to run a short cage derailleur on my urban bike, but as far as I know Sram doesn't make one. Is it possible to take a cage off of a Shimano derailleur and put it on a Sram derailleur?

sram does make a mid-cage version of their x0 derailleurs, supposedly.

i dont think the cages are compatible either, the sram's have a much stronger spring at the cage than shimano's

They make a short cage 9.0SL, the white and black ones. I have one on my HT.
