I was checking my new MAG30s and I noticed a "high spot" on a small section of the rim. What I mean by that is that when I look at the rim the same way you'd look at it to see if there is a flat spot, I see the side wall rise like ~2mm. Is that because the wall at that spot was made like that during manufacturing or is it because I need to get my wheel reajusted?

2mm....I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanx. By the way, do you know if it's because of the way the wheel was built?

I would bet it is where the seam is welded. The "hop" you see is likely juust the edge of the rim, and not present where the tire bead sits. You shouldn't see it on the tire, nor feel it when you ride.

You're absolutely right! And no, I don't feel it when I ride. Thanx for reasurance.

yea, expect the weld to be about 2mm.

My Rhynolite XL was perfectly round except for the weld bump. Took me a second to actually realize it. If you can feel it, then you have a problem.
