I hope so but then I need like 1700$ for these things.. why not just buy old one and use conversion cups...
David
07-13-2003, 12:34 PM
true.
i thought you said you didn't want conversion cups?
Rosscofat
07-13-2003, 12:38 PM
I dont but I might have too.. i dont wanna spend another 1700$ just for that.. i might jsut stick with my Le toy.. it all depends on what they give me for warrnaty if i get 2004 then I get 2004 so whatever
David
07-13-2003, 01:01 PM
yes, that is a good point.:)
when r u sending it in for warentee?

Meh. I like the le toy III more. although the drop outs on that are cooler. They might have made a big mistake taking away the v-brake mounts.
Wow, the Letoy IV looks solid. 1.5 Steerer and BMX bb shell. Might be a little ahead of it's time because a lot of people are still running reducers in their frames...Letoy and .243 for the bb shell and head tube reducers for Evil.
I wonder what's the point of having a BMX bb or 1.5 headtube if people are just going to run reducers.
A Euro sized bb shell would have been perfect for my Letoy 3. But since it came with a BMX sized bb, I wanted to run a set of BMX sized bb.
Nice adjustable vertical dropouts. I've always found 24 bikes to be innovative in rear wheel adjustment. I dig their current system too.

they are making them for the future of 1.5 sc forks I guess.. maybe overthere thats very big and they might get a bigger sale over there then here with us and the huckers and maybe bmx bb is jsut incase U wanna run bmx cranks

options.
I run reducers on my evil and although I have no plans on buying a 1.5 fork, it is nice to know there arn't any forks I couldn't run if I wanted.

True, it's definitely good to have options. But have you noticed how many people are running reducers on Evils, Letoys and .243s? Maybe it's not the right application for now? Or maybe there aren't enough selection of strong/light parts to be used for 1.5 headtubes and BMX bb shells?

DUDE i want one of those to replace my stinky frame!!!!!!! :thepimp:
Id take that over fs anyday
I dont see y they just use bigger bearing headsets rather then reducer cups???? that would increase the head set durability much
Rosscofat
07-13-2003, 05:17 PM
the bb shell is just there I could care less what they put there... and the 1.5 maybe just for testing or somthing cant be to hard to put a normal one in there
Rosscofat
07-13-2003, 05:18 PM
can someone show me where this "bigger bearing headsets" are? because if they send me one I need to get one of these things...

i dont see y u people complaing about the 1.5, one day they it mght catch on, and be the only thing u can get, like look at the old 1" steers, they used to be all ovr the place, now, not so much. that could happened to the 1 1/8", might get replaced by 1.5 . isn;t it good to know that if that happened, ur frame is still usable?

07-13-2003, 08:14 PM

this is what you need, burly good quality headset that reduces a 1.5 headtube for normal 1 1/8 forks.
i have one it is great:)

more info^
ps what fork are you thinking of getting, i suggest a manitou sherman slider, 6 inch unless you want spv, which is good but i would ride it first.

07-13-2003, 11:43 PM

Mountain Dewd
07-14-2003, 12:00 AM
dude i know, the slider is a dual crown.
http://www.pinkbike.com/modules/photo/?op=view&image=85836
it works well;)
other wise get a 04 super, it is all bolt on and clears a 2.8 inch tire, and it isa dual crown not a gay single crown.

Okay, quick review of what went on in the Netherlands past weekend.
It was Pornspirit time. so the guys of 24 came to the netherlands (last year they also where here, see sprung 5 for yourself) and they did some filming and riding with us in Rotterdam and gave my friend the worldscoop-picture of the Toy IV. I saw Tristan put the decals on by himself. And now they are going to test the 2 toy IV frames.
By the way, those guys are so relaxed. It was a very good weekend.:D
Some more pictures of the Toy IV frame.

Or buy a Woodman Saturn Solution headset that has oversized bearings making 1 1/8 steerer tubes compatible with the 1.5 headtube. No reducer cups needed and stronger than any other headset out there. Rated by MTBUK as the strongest headset ever made...
