why will it? I am getting all of the other shocks and grips and tires, why will it void the warrenty?

Because somthing about it could affect the bike somhow so company's make it so that if you paint the frame yourself it will void the warranty, sorry to burst your bubble.

Doesn't matter, unless specialized is painting in it'll void warranty.

I really doubt it. Call them and find out?

specialized wont do a custom paintjob, but dont worry about warrenty, worst comes to worst and theyll give you crash replacement (hella cheap)....

just make sure you sand well, primer several coats, and do lots of thin coats of your final paint. Also, make sure you heavily clearcoat it AND BE CAREFUL.

Dude, phone Specialized and ask.

Back when I had my Holeshot, I was thinking of painting it, so I asked Brodie and they told me to "paint away, your warranty is still good."

This little jobbie voided my warranty (I waited until 11 months then painted away)http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/pbpic44392.jpg

There are a dozen reasons why painting 'could' comprise a frames integrity, for all a company knows you could have baked the paint on in an oven and ruined the heat treating of the aluminum parts

why void the warranty on such a new bike?

btw, this is right from their website..

Repainting

Question
I want to have my Specialized frame repainted. Where can I go to have this done?

Answer
Specialized does not have a painting service, but the information below is for the company that has done a lot of frame painting for us in the past. Unfortunately if anyone else besides Class Act repaints the bike it will void the warrranty.

You can give Class Act Coatings a call and they can probably help you out.

You may contact them at the following number:

1-866-823-0070

They are located in the Portland, Oregon area.

Thanks.

Lifetime frame warranty. Your dealer lies.

For a period of time we went down to a 5 year warranty, but now we have decided to go back to a limited lifetime warranty on all frames. This warranty covers all older frames that were sold under the 5 year warranty change but is limited to covering the frames for manufacturer defects and is valid only for the original owner of the bicycle.

Spec. has a kick ass warrenty on the BIGHIT line...if your LBS doesnt think so , find yourself another Spec. bike store....

i had my 01 BIGHIT rear seatstay replaced on the spot at Dizzy, and it was my fault...it wasnt even something i expected to warrenty....

i strecthed teh rear drop out/D hanger attachment area...

but is the rear triangle actually considered part of the frame? Since you can take it off so easily
