LOS ANGELES, May 13, 2003 – Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the summer 2003 release of Downhill Domination™, available exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Developed and created by Sony Computer Entertainment America's Santa Monica studio and Incog Inc. Entertainment, Downhill Domination is the first downhill mountain bike racing game ever published for a next generation console and features professional riders, licensed manufacturers, a broad-appealing music roster and courses from around the globe.

Downhill Domination is based on the extreme sport of downhill mountain bike racing and puts players in control of a customizable mountain bike to race down vertical mountainsides and urban environments while performing stunts at speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour. Playable in first- and third-person perspectives, players will be able to select from one of 14 riders, including five pro-riders in an intense race to gain corporate sponsorship and a chance at the coveted Downhill Domination Championship.

"Due to its vertical racing style and competitive nature, the sport of downhill mountain bike racing has globally reached participants and spectators throughout the U.S., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, and numerous other countries," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "With the upcoming release of Downhill Domination, we are able to deliver the first extreme sport of this nature to PlayStation 2 fans while expanding the racing category to new heights." "When I first met with Sony I realized the importance that this game would have for mountain biking," said Eric Carter, world-class mountain bike and BMX champion rider featured in the game. "Downhill Domination could be the first step in getting mountain bike racing back in the forefront of the extreme game competitions – and this game does an awesome job of showcasing our sport."

In Downhill Domination, there are three unique course styles including Mountain Cross, Technical Downhill and Freeride through 27 expansive and interactive "go anywhere" track designs. During gameplay, players have the freedom to pick the best racing line through unforgiving canyons, forests, city streets and more while avoiding environmental and weather hazards. For points earned, players can upgrade with real-world mountain bike components to enhance performance. In addition to fully customizable bikes, Downhill Domination incorporates more than 30 super tricks and an assortment of "combat" tactics to take down even the most hardened riders. Players can choose from five different multiplayer modes, allowing up

to four players to race simultaneously. Downhill Domination also features various licensed alternative, punk, hip-hop, techno and classic rock tunes that capture the energy and excitement of each race.

Aww come on. Simulator games just aren't as much fun as unrealistic arcade ones.

Do you have any idea how boring Tony Hawk would be if it were realistic, and you fell every 2 seconds for no reason, took 15 tries to kickflip, couldn't grind for more than a few seconds, only on super waxed rails and ledges?

Just enjoy the fact that it's fun, and related to something you like.

Off topic but...
Stinky-D where is Dauphin Manitoba?
Even the town website doesn't say where it is.
A map would be killer but if not, how far from winnipeg, the boarders etc
thanks

Game looks fun, it has many play modes, like 4cross and freeride as well as Downhill. 30 top companies featured and many bike upgrades, forks wheels frames and the rest.

Yes its unrealistic, but its fun. For those of you with PS2's check you the last PS magazine it has a indepth look at the game.

If you want more videos go to www.ign.com and search for Downhill Domiantion.

I take it you've never seen any GOOD skaters ride? Aside from 99% of skaters, there are some that absolutely rip, and can do almost every trick every time... (aside from the grinding part, you're right about that).

I think that biking game looks retarded, but could be fun.
