me and my GF went for our first rides together this weekend and it was great. we just rode some easy short XC cuz it was the first time she had been on a bike in years but she had a blast and she seems to be hooked. only problem is, now she wants to go bike shopping soon :S lol

My wife (girlfriend at the time) got me into mountain biking for the first time a few years ago. Our whole riding group consists of couples. It's a great sport to do together. I wish I could keep up with some of the women I see out on the trails these days.

i've done the dirt clinic twice - once last year when it was sponsored by shimano, and once this year (i'm in the big pic at the bottom of that article :D ) and i'm doing the reunion weekend in whistler.
it's awesome - i could go on and on about it - i've learned SO much (still can't bunny hop dammit but i'm still trying) and the instructors are fantabulous.
My GF has a cruiser and we ride to the beach...it's a start I guess.
She loves to go ATV'ing so i'm trying to get her to hop on my big hit and find a big hill

For any women out there looking for something similar to the Sugoi workshop, check out www.womensonly.com. They are a great group of women that have classes and workshops for all levels of riding, beginner to advanced. The classes run from spring to fall, on weeknights and weekends. It's a great way to learn the skills necessary to ride the west coast, and a great way for women to meet more women out there riding.

Yea, I feel sorry for the people who don't like having chix riding with them, usually because they are better than them. They need to take a moment and learn from them.
Were all in the same boat:lol:
Cya,
Chris
nobody said anything about NOT LIKING having chix ride with them.

Here's a little secret guys.
I've helped out with the Dirt Series clinics a couple times now and talking to the women that are taking the clinic, it's amazing how many times I hear the same story -
"I want to ride, but my bf/husband/so always takes me out on these hard rides and I can't ride most of the trail, so I end up walking with him riding way off in the distance, so I never learn how to ride anything"
Think about it.

Exactly Ken, I help out the Women's Only and hear the same thing. I have my rides with the boys, where I ride the harder trails (for me anyways) and crash alot, and I take my wife out to the less scary trails and ride them slow and let her try everything. I've been on Fromme and seen women blow past our whole group of guys before too. There's some real good women riders out there.
